Is investing money in NRE/NRNR account on cooperative banks such as COSMOS BANK (Pune)Maharashtra a safe thing?

Can any one of knows about investing in NRE/NRNR in COSMOS bank from Pune?
What are benefits ?? What is a risk?
Please give your valuable suggestions

why some unknown bank in pune? how about citi bank or hongkong bank ? or other reputed pvt banks

I can understand your lack of inclination to do buisness with SBI because their service sucks.

The investments are insured upto Rs. 1 lac, but not beyond that I think, so you would be safer with opening accounts with Citibank(East Street) or HSBC(near Wadia College). The interest rates given by these banks might be 1% less than the scheduled banks, but you know that your money is in safe hands.
