Time to upgrade again.... Please read from your favourite sources the draft of Instrument of Accession signed by Raja Hari Singh....!!! Your own BJP stayed in power for atleast a term and could do nothing about Article 356 which was their favourite baby after Mandir....!!! Bal Thackeray has been into the extortion business for a looooooooooooooong time now. He used to extort protection money from Mumbai businesses way back when he started. This is one of the ways that the Shiv Sena funds its party apparatus.

Old habits die hard.

Even the Congress and the BJP fund their party machinery using bribes and illegal money. May be not extortion though — then again, who knows? These people have problems raising money legally because they created some stupid laws. Now they flout the laws happily while giving bhashan on how the law will take its course. Ha ha.

That is why not one of these parties will publicly and clearly talk about their source of funding. Our journalists are well-aware of this, but being the polite, genteel creatures they are, refrain from asking any inconvenient questions.

In contrast, most Western political parties, occasional scams and embezzlements notwithstanding, keep solid accounts and can account for where they got their money from. They keep a record of even small donors to the party. AFAIK.
