Narendra Modi was always clean but now officially

Officially, Narendra Modi is now clean
The Supreme Court- appointed Special Investigating Team has given a clean chit to Narendra Modi in the Gujarat riots, though the courts decision on the report and the case is yet to be delivered
RK MISRA Gandhinagar
It is official now. The Supreme Court constituted Special Investigation Team has found no evidence of the involvement of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and his key administrative and police team in the communal riots that engulfed the state in the aftermath of the Godhra train carnage of February 27, 2002.
This was made clear on Tuesday by Ahmedabad Metropolitan magistrate MS Bhatt, who received the closure report of the Special Investigation Team in February.
'The investigators have found no evidence against any of the accused, including Narendra Modi, in the 2002 Gulberg Society massacre," the magistrates order stated.
A final decision on it will however come from the court.
Zakia Jafri, wife of former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri who was among 69 people burnt alive by riotous mobs on February 28,2002, at Gulberg society in Ahmedabad, had accused Modi and other senior government officers of being conspirators in the riots in a complaint before the apex court.
The Supreme Court had constituted the SIT headed by former DGP RK Raghavan and entrusted investigation of nine key cases related to the post- Godhra riots, following allegations against the chief minister, his cabinet ministers, top administrative and police officers.
The SIT was also mandated to probe the larger conspiracy of the communal riots and those behind it. This was the only complaint in which the chief minister was named and the clean chit is a shot in the arm for Modi, who is longing for a larger political role on the national stage.
This is also the first official confirmation about the SIT report finding no proof against the Chief Minister, as it has so far been in the realm of conjecture only." No offence" has been established against any of the persons listed in Zakias complaint as per the SIT report, judge Bhatt said in his order.
The SIT has thus not only given a clean chit to the chief minister but also to 61 other administrative and police officers of the state government, including the then DGP A. K. Chakravarthy and the then Ahmedabad police commissioner PC Pandey.
The court has directed the probe panel to give a copy of the voluminous report to Zakia Jaffri within 30 days, which is when the SIT report will become fully public. " As per the Supreme Courts order and principle of natural justice the complainant has to be given copy of the report and related documents. Zakia will be given copies of the investigation report, statements of witnesses and all related documents within 30 days of this order," said the court.
Zakia, though crestfallen over the closure report, said that the fight would continue. " The fight for justice shall continue up to my last breath," she added.
Social activist Teesta Setalvad of Citizens for Justice and Peace ( CJP) said that the court order to make available copies of the SIT report was a victory and the legal battle will continue. " The SIT closure report is a disappointment and has made our worst fears come true," she said, adding that the court should also hear them before a final decision on the closure report.
Zakias lawyer SM Vora was of the opinion that no investigating agency can give a clean chit. It is the job of the court only. He pointed out that the report of the Amicus Curie, Raju Ramchandran, has been completely ignored by the SIT and does not find mention in the SIT report. Tanvir Jaffri, son of Zakia Jaffri, said that their future strategy will be decided only after studying the SIT report. The SIT, which examined chief minister Modi besides numerous other officers and men, had submitted its report to the Supreme Court, which also asked amicus curie Raju Ramchandran to submit his report to it as well.
BJP leader Yatin Oza, however, described the closure report as a slap on the face of the critics of chief minister Modi.

You are being plain unfair to Modi. Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler were not subject to intense media and establishment persecution like Modi was subject to, the past entire decade. Modi came clean past his own trail of fire.

There is a oceanwide difference between Modi the victim and the other two congress criminals.

Innocent Hindus have died in communal riots and so have innocent Muslims. Is this the reason to punish more innocent people? This is the problem with you kangressis ... you need to keep beating dead horses to hide your own failures.

Re: Narendra Modi was always clean but now officially

These kinds of problems (like judgements not in keeping with 'generated sentiments'---with the connivance of a venal, pliant 'secular' media) will continue to crop up so long as the judiciary is NOT SUBJECTED to 'reservations and quotas', as is the case with our bureaucracy, police-force, education setup etc.. etc..

The average, reservation mongering sub-standard (sub-standard even by Asian Standards) Indian [can't say Bharatiya---*.* it has a 'HINDU (IE, 'communal') ring to it] will always be subject to such heart-burns every time meritocracy clashes with his cherished mediocrity.

Doesnt it also prove that Congress, inspite of being in power, didnt misuse the power and influence the court.... The fact that this judgement is delivered during congress' rule and that too with elections round the corner, simply is a bright testimony of congress' intentions.....

If Raja or Kalmadi would have been acquitted, I am sure every one would have thought that Congress being in power has influenced the court's verdict....!!!

So in the same breath, lets admit that Congress played it clean....!!!

People simply don't seem to get it.
Unlike the police, bureaucracy, etc.., the judiciary IS BEYOND the pale od influence of these 'seculars'!
In case of the army, these shameless seculars have put the IAS babus ABOVE professional soldiers----and the results regarding 'arms and item purchases' are there for all to see. Even here, unfortunately, the seculars have not been able to meddle as much as they would have liked to;so, the ACTUAL ARMY PERSONNEL continue to be a thorn in the (back)side of these seculars!
--------And, as long as 'merit' matters more over 'reservations and quotas' in these institutions, seculars like the Congress will have no alternative but to let these institutions 'be clean'!

Both are same, murder is murder, court of law does not change the nature of crime on personality basis. When was the last time a famous politician got punished, Rajiv died unpunished, tyler/kumar and modi will have same fate

Your party is not messiah of minorities either, BJP is known enemy and people know its side, Congress side is depends upon the opportunity

Generated sentiments originates from crowd, and Judiciary exam at lower level already has quotas, All PCS exam of judiciary has quotas

Court is beyond their power, infact, in their heart, SC behaves as super law maker, Raja or Kalmadi were inside because court wanted it, Congress does not hold any water in court matter

Good analogy

if millitary fails in any operation genral is considered responsible for not providing direction and leadership

and when a state machinery fails in controlling riot who should be held accountable??

Judiciary in India is equally, if not the most, corrupt and 'influentiable' institution.... Perhaps, one of the reasons why no judge wants to come under RTI.... Forget the bigger courts, the lower sessions courts are out and out corrupt.... So stop living in fools paradise believing that Judiciary is 'clean'...!!! The way cash flows to influence the verdicts is all to well known....!!! Courts are just glorified in Hindi Movies.... The real world is pretty much different....!!! Kanimozhi got bail but there are millions who are languishing in jails without a trial even....!!!

oh, the debates!

for a person, who doesnt believe corruption is a real thing, saying that judiciary in India is corrupt is neither here nor there. you will just say whatever is required to oppose BJP - none of your views appear to be personal that you want to stick to.
