You think about the country?! Great!!!! So.. what would you have done?! Inspite from pressures from the oil companies.. ambiguity about world economy.. U as a "governing body" would have kept the price as what it is?!

If I have to think about the country, I would rather think about Mosquitoes killing 250,000 each year or women forced to sit in open for toilets before thinking about Congress/BJP/Kasab/Rape...!!

Government has to do with it but if it doesnt do then its the opposition's duty to remind them to do it and if both of them dont do it then the common man should raise rational demands and make them do it rather than harping on evasive issues like corruption or Raja or Kalmadis....!!! That's why I have no trust in BJP... If they cant prove themselves as a rational opposition, why should I trust them with governance....!!!

out of 65 years of our independance majority has been congress governance. Pray tell me what rational demands of common man has this government fulfilled? You think suddenly sabko jhatka laga and they started harping about corruption? you havent seen the pain people have suffered over the years?

This is the most sane and sensible post in this whole thread (not that I've read the whole thread).

Under normal circumstances, we can't expect the govt to buy petrol at Rs. 100 a litre and sell it to us at Rs. 60 a litre (just to throw some numbers). This kind of sop will bust the budget, especially now that vehicle ownership has been increasing tremendously.

Far too many outside factors are beyond our control in the global economy.

In increasing the petrol price, Congress is doing the responsible thing and the right thing.
