Kashmakash - Hindi dubbed Bengali movie

I was getting bored today after lunch, so thought of watching a Hindi movie, came across this one with a good name, "Kashmakash" meaning dilaemma, read a bit of the review here. I noticed some good names associated with the movie. Subhash Ghai (producer), Gulzar (Lyricist), Rituparno Ghosh (Director), Sen sisters Ria and Raima, and the foremost attraction was that story is from a 'Naukadubi', a novel by Rabindranath Tagore.

Set in 1920′s Bengal, Kashmakash is a tale of Ramesh (Jisshu Sengupta) who is forced to marry Susheela (Riya Sen) whereas his heart lies with Hem Nalini (Raima Sen). Things take a turn for the worse when, Ramesh realizes that his wife Susheela is after all Kamala and is the wife of someone named Neel Naksha Choudhury (Prosenjit Chatterjee). He then decides to reunite Kamala with her rightful husband. Rest of the story is how Ramesh locates Neel Naksha and what effect it has on his life.

The movie is definitely worth watching if you like a slow solid movie (a bit artsy) with class unknown to recent times, assisted with good acting, display of delicate relationships, some romance and wonderful locales of old Benaras and Calcutta. The screenplay, the dialogues, the music everything was just right. The story just keeps you tied and looking forward to the climax.

I have noticed that all Begali authors either write total sexed up stuff like Choker Bali or completely sad sack stuff like Devdas.

If the bangaali gets his bangaalan he comes up with the sexed up stuff...

If the Marathi or the Punjabi or the gujurati gets the bangaalan i.e. randhawa, ass-mit or johny puttar get the bangaalans as is the case normally these days, the poor bangaali is left behind to either turn to homosexuality or to writing torturous literature that non bangaalis can read to commit suicide...

zaada der communism rehne se yehi nateeja nikalta hai...dostoevsky is another bangaali for example...

Was the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam inspired from the same novel?
Ajay marries Ash, finds out she loves Sallu...goes to places to unite her and Sallu and the climax?

It for sure is a dud movie ... Puke at the poster. Seems like it released in 1940 s ... decent movie thread .
