Trending Is kissing necessary in Love scenes in Hindi movies?

Deepika Padukone says that Kissing is necessary in modern love stories.. do you agree? I don't. Talking about Indian movies only here..

I mean, in olden days they used to show the lovebirds cuddling, hugging etc. and it was enough to portray love. Is it the changing mores that require that no love can be portrayed without a lip-kiss scene? Come to think of that, is lip-kiss so intrinsic to Indian culture or has its awareness spread through the various entertainment media? Personally a lip-kiss won't be the obvious or the no. 1 thing on my list, a tight embrace - maybe accompanied by slow rubbing to indicate physical attraction too etc..

Some passages from the article..
Quote:
Is your character inspired from Ranbir Kapoor, who's supposed to be as commitment phobic as Aaliya? I think it is unfair to say that. Danish has written the script and I don't think he has taken any inspiration from Ranbir or any other person.
Yes, my character is commitment phobic but that doesn't mean people start comparing me with Ranbir just because I know him.

Were you uncomfortable at any time because of the kissing scene in the film?
No, not at all. When you are making a modern love story, some of these things are necessary. It was as easy or difficult like any other scene. The media has created a lot of hype because it's a kissing scene but when you watch the film, it's in context.

How was Imran Khan to work with?
He's very easy to work with, very supportive. If I had a problem while enacting a scene or saying a dialogue, he would help me out. We would discuss scenes and ideas and improvise shots. I have found a good friend in him.

What is your take on long distance relationships?
It's different for different people. It has been successful for some people and not, for others.
Personally, I think space is very important in a relationship. It is very important to respect each other's thoughts. Also, when you are in a relationship, certain things have to be given up by both.

Is about time we saw a few babla shots from the main actresses. Bloody bunch of prick-teases.

Yes Deepika, kissing is needed but why stop there, we want to see your happy ending as well. But please nobody is interested to see you there, this is for other actresses like Priyanka, Bipasha etc.

this girl has gone nuts. on the KWK show she said that she would gift a pack of condoms to ranbir and that he should become a brand ambassador for a condom. trying to be an ultramodern biyatch.

I don't think that kamasutra gives that much importance to a lip kiss. The other EC scholars on KS can give a better response to that.

How about tight embrace with slight but hard rubbing actions and/or deep caresses ? Won't such a sequence be more erotic than a lip kiss? I mean, a kiss has been overplayed ... the same neck tilt, the same closing of eyes, the same ummmphh and aahh... I don't really find these on screen lip-kisses erotic.

kiss is less objectionable and more erotic inside the theatre as seeing kisses couples in there starts kissing too and more kissing so more couple comes to the show and more money.

remember serial-kisser emraan hashmi getting hit just based on some kissing scenes and bareback shots of actresses/

Re: Is kissing necessary in Love scenes in Hindi movies?

I thought I posted a reply. I must be dreaming as usual.

I don't think it is necessary to show people kissing to convey the message that they are in love. But its ok, if its done in moderation, I think.
Some movies get very uncomfortable when watching with parents, like the movie Race.

Theek hai..., sensationalism's sake karte hai, but I don't think it is the right expression of an Indian couple - modern love story or not.

Are you a woman? Or do you like gay men? Seriously, who watches that crap? I had never seen this show before (this show must have started way back when I did not have Star channel here) and so I turned on the TV for one episode. Within fiften minutes I realised its a faggot hosting a show and the guests are just a bunch of fags (Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan were on) trying to act all fake cool!

I flipped channels and preferred to watch something else.

it has started in india ... making out sessions .. just kissing and groping...

in movie Fashion, that godse girl was doing in her first scene. its latest trend there.

in movies of yesteryears they ve shown that love started from having sex... and end up on marriage or abortions.

One common thing about Karan Johar on coffee show and Abu Sandeep (two guys) from First Ladies show; all all laugh like fags. Are really most dress designers in bollywood are fags, like shown in fashion?
