Thumbs down Review: Luck - Producer's luck surely will run out

Just started watching this movie online. Seems to be interesting so far. Somehow I get a feeling of having watched the bits and pieces in earlier Hollywood and some Bollywood films.

Re: Review: Luck

How far are you into this movie ... I can try to download it and watch it myself ... or is it not worth my paid-cable-bandwidth ...

Re: Review: Luck - Producer's luck surely will run out

I have one more part to watch, but I can summarise the movie or rather the fate of the producer - Producer's luck has run out. He will lose out on his investment.

More details after the final part.

Okay here is the basic plot.

Have you seen Fear Factor TV show? Its a show about performing dare devil stunts. Okay have you seen movies where some folks have super luck at the tables and hence win at cards. Okay now how about making these super lucky people play a Fear Factor kind of game instead of at the casino table?

So with this flimsy idea, the director embarked on a mission to ruin the producer's luck.

Sanjay Dutt plays Moosa bhai who with the help of Danny who plays Lakhan Tamang hunts for people who have very good luck. Then he gets them together in South Africa to play dare devil stunts. Those who survive will move on to the next level.

The movie gets progressively boring with each round of stunts. Not a single song is bearable and is rape of your ears and brain. The movie manages to get repetitive and boring with each new stunt.

Aamir Khan's nephew has the same expression throughout the movie. The director must have demanded a troubled look, so our hero gets constipated, puts a cork up his ass and then uses that expression throughout the film. Kind of like Abhishekh Bacchan who cannot act as well.

Shruti Hassan is an insult to her great actor dad Kamal Hassan. She looks like a poor copy of Esha Deol. Atleast Esha Deol can sort of put up a pretense of acting. Shruti Hassan is neither hot nor an actor.

I am happy that old actors like Mithun and Danny got a role, must be good for their egos and also good that it helps pay the bills. They do a good job.

Overall, the movie sucks. I am now just about 30 minutes from the climax, or rather anti-climax. Yet I know what th end will be. Boring.

So friends, avoid this piece of crap. Since I am watching it, I will complete it. My bad luck!

Oh I did not know he was the asshole who directed Kaal. I am amazed that Ashtavinayak Films allowed this moron to direct one more time. And this idiot was the one who 'wrote' the movie too!

And for those who are wondering at why these lucky people play Fear Factor at the behest of Danny and Sanjay Dutt - well, all of them need money obviously. And Sanjay Dutt is a big bookie who is taking bets on who will survive each round of Fear Factor.

I finished the movie and regretted even starting this review here. I mean, it started off so well, and got me interested till a point where all such lucky people are taken together to play their first round of Fear Factor. I thought there will be some heist kind of movie. Naah. Crap..

The scene you all see in promos where folks are standing in a circle with each one pointing a gun to the head of the person to their right, well, it is copied from an old film.

Here is that scene in its original version.

Infact the entire movie seems to be lifted from the film is 13 Tzameti minus the usual Bollywood tadka.

Re: Review: Luck

I have always wondered why Bollywood directors don't make movies based on best seller novels - either Hindi or English. They will either copy the movies from somewhere(Hollywood or others) OR come up with a piece of crap themselves.
I don't think they have enough respect for good story tellers.

Arey this movie is a copy of that movie I posted above and also lifted from Stone Cold Steve Austin's flop movie 'The Condemned'. I mean the director has lifted from many many movies. And has made a mess out of it.
