Interesting twist to the saga:D

Indians in Australia say Lebanese youths behind attacks

SYDNEY: Indian students on Thursday alleged that Lebanese youths were behind the attacks on them here as they took to streets for the third
consecutive night protesting against racial attacks.

The spate of racial attacks against Indians spread to Sydney after members of the community were targeted in Melbourne.

Arabic people are also white in colour ( most of them ) While working 80-90 hrs per week these students are able to pinpoint the race of attackers now that's what I call talent.
Attackers are thugs mix of different races. Khicdi mein seyy akeley chaval nikalna koi humm Indians seyy seekhey. We are the most hypocrite race on this planet.

Indian media stoked feelings of outrage: Australian envoy

Quote:
Melbourne: Australia's image in India has been damaged after attacks on Indian students, Canberra's envoy to New Delhi John McCarthy has said, adding that "India's voracious 24-hour cable news channels helped stoke the wave of fear and outrage among Indians in both countries".

"It's done damage. You can't have three weeks of that sort of television without the perception of Australia among Indians being damaged. The question is how much?" McCarthy was quoted as saying by a newspaper, The Australian.

McCarthy said while bilateral relationship with India - including talks over a free-trade agreement - would probably remain unaffected from the fallout, but the new negative perception of Australia would linger.

"Two or three stories go on and on, and very violent and disturbing pictures are shown over and over again. What happens then is immediately people with relatives in Australia get on the phone. This seems to cause far more debate about the situation. Then you get the next stage, which is probably a demonstration, which looks much worse, and it fuels on itself," he said.

The attacks on Indian students in Melbourne and Sydney has dominated Indian media headlines for more than a fortnight. At least 11 Indians have been attacked or mugged in the past month that students here have described as racial violence or "curry bashing".

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd last week condemned the attacks and called them "regrettable fact of urban life".

Rudd has also called up Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to assure him that Australia is doing all it can to address the problem.

McCarthy said most Indian media eventually gave context to the attacks by reporting that many victims lived in outer suburbs and took public transport late at night, making them more vulnerable to crime.

But the cable channels were "dominated to a significant extent by the comments coming out of the student unions which did not always reflect the total student membership or the Indian community".

McCarthy said Australia had almost 95,000 Indians students and "they haven't all been writing letters and emails. A number of them have been saying 'we're fine'. But they weren't the ones getting heard".

"My sense is we will overcome it, but it's going to take time and it's going to need a pretty close look at how we prepare students for Australia. We need to be much more conscious of their safety," he added.

media does this evrywhere. in the UK, the tabloids are all aginst outsourcing to India and always have a daily complaint list.

At the time of Harbhajan controversy, many Aussie media were clearly on the OZ side.

Rambhai ... in our neighborhood lived a beautiful young Gujju lady by the name of Rama ... she liked me very much even if I was less than half her age ... like a brother.

We LLKCs are pretentious people. We wait for opportunity and strike fast ... pretending to know more than you smart people. And when proven stupid we recoil back inside our LLKC-hood.

Please be gentle ...

Not true. You must be referring to Muslims of eastern Europe or what was former USSR ... they are mostly like Caucasians.

While working 80-90 hrs per week these students are able to pinpoint the race of attackers now that's what I call talent.

I can point to a Lebanese in a crowd of people of mid-east. Lebanese ... for your information ... are not Arabs. They are nothing like Arabs. It doesn't need any talent to tell a Lebanese from Arab just as you can tell an Indian from Chinese.

Attackers are thugs mix of different races.

Not true. Indian student insist ... attackers are of Lebanese descent who happen to be Aussies. Indian students have nothing to gain or lose by claiming their attackers to be a certain race or creed.

We are the most hypocrite race on this planet.

Those being beaten and robbed will disagree with you.
Like I said ... LLKC opportunistic comment. Please be gentle.

TY tell me abt the woman, rest I will agree with u. One thing I am very clear they are more of opportunistic crimes and a small fraction can be racial. Lebanese I can identify when I am in their ghettos not otherwise.

Tantrum Lady....FYI...Lebanese are Arabs, period. Also, Arab world is pretty diverse in skin color...from pale/ruddy white with brown/brownish blonde hair (some in Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, Morocco & Libya) to light brown skinned (Arabs in general)...to dark tan in Africa (Egypt/Sudan/Somalia/Mauritania)

This is because Arab world comprises of those people whose mother tongue is Arabic...regardless of ethnicity
