well, all I meant was that SG claims that her dad is a renowned economist and statistitian and has even worked for the world bank. Why doesn't she/he talk to her/his dad about this economic scenario in the US?

Hey!! Give the guy a chance.

I remember reading sometime back that SG's dad was an economist. I too am very eager to hear his take on the economic situation. More importantly, does he see things looking up in the near future??

There he goes again. If you really do not know the facts, stay away from them. Don't let your inferority complex eat you.

There are no claims, just facts. So stay away from them.

What has FED rate cut

got to do with wife beating???

Back on topic:

Is this good or bad? Last time they cut the rate by just a quarter point, the Wall Street saw it as a good sign as they interpreted this cut as positive. I mean they thought that this was good as the FED did not think that the recession was still on in fulls wing...

What do you read into this latest cut now???

Its not the FED rate cut, but the downturn in the economy has led to a steep increase in wife beating cases.

Conversations in several redneck households have gone like this .. "Honey .. can I buy 2 more pairs of those see thru tights?"
"No. you stupd ^#&@@#". "And why not .. I'm gonna buy them".
"Take that .. dishum dishum"

eNRI,

Again, I am not an economist nor do I claim to understand it very well. Inferences about talks that I overhear are one thing and proper deductions are something else.

If you are really interested in what my dad does, you wouldn't have asked something like this just out of the blue.

moreover, from the recent happenings it is also apparent that it has led to an increased number of gang rapes.

Sutradhar/echarcha, I fully understand your anger at this post from videsee. Infact, as a moderator he has more responsibility of keeping the discussion on track but instead he is one of those who will screw up a thread by digressing. On top of it, videsee is elder than most of us and from his age we expect both maturity and restrain, but he has failed to display any.

I support you in whacking this guy and more so because you did not prefer to remain quiet just because this guy is a moderator and a sister site host. Good job!!

For Super Girl, I think you bragged about your dad being an economist in another post (don't know if he really is or not, because it doesn't take much to invent careers or wages ). So, the question was very much in line of discussion and your response seems very much self made and not coming from an econmist worth a name. Just my opinion, you certainly have the right to disagree.
