Is your monitor manufactured before 1993? If not ... you must install SVGA drivers. VGA drivers are for old 12" monitors.

it seems my monitor settings is not correct.

Installing VGA drivers in to post 1993 monitors is like inserting cassettes in to dvd player. Of course your monitor settings are all screwed up.

right now it is 16 colors and 600x800 pix. how to fix it?

Once you insert correct drivers in to your monitor ... you will automatically get 32 colors and 1200x1600 pix. You need not fix anything else.

Let me know if you need anymore help ...

I am at work ... cannot google ... but to the best of my expertise you need SSVGA drivers if your monitor is manufactured in 2008. Do you need the links to download?

Let me know if you need some more help ...

edit/add ... Sethji left for toilet ... there is simple solution to your problem. Please disconnect electric supply to you monitor. Turn on PC. Now first we take care of 16/32 bit problem. Open control panel. Go to appearance. Adjust starfield display to 16 or 32 stars in settings. Apply. Now go to settings and set resolution to desired levels. Turn off your pc. Connect electric plug of monitor to power supply. Turn on the pc. Ought to work like clock.

Let me know if you need some more help ...

first tell us whether u r not able to specifically see higher resolutions in flash player or ur current monitor's display is at maximum 16 colors and 800X600 resolution...

anyways download your current driver from http://www.nodevice.com/driver/G90f-2/get36260.html

go to desktop-->right click on any empty area of desktop-->properties-->settings-->advanced-->monitor-->properties-->driver-->update driver....select location of the driver u downloaded n install....c if it solves ur problem...change the settings in display settings to say 32 bit colors and 1024X768 resolution (i hope u know how to change these settings..if no then...repeat the same steps stated above and after settings u adjust color and resolution in same setting screen and apply the changes)

secondly, what browser r u using...one needs to enable java/javascript in browserto views specific content...download latest version of flashplayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash

Ok. Here is the solution: Throw the monitor in the nearest dumpster. Go to Bestbuy or Circuitcity and buy a good LCD monitor thats more energy efficient and better for your eyes! If you are a bit internet-savvy, go to buy.com or other such internet superstores and buy one of those several hundred LCDs that they are trying sell with tons of discounts!

yogiji i dont think spybot is to be blamed for ur problem...in any case..if u feel so...then temporarily disable spybot and try downloading the attachment...if it downloads then we will tweak ur spybot...if no then we will look at other solutions....

for temporarily disabling spybot..here is the procedure..

run spybot-->menu bar-->mode-->advanced mode-->click yes-->select tools (left side navigation bar)-->resident-->uncheck the checkboxes in front of two tools

p.s- are u facing this problem only with yahoo or other attachemnts also + what is the error message u r getting when u try to download attachment + what browser u r using currently?

I did uncehck Spybot but no change. Saxena Sahib, here is something strange ... although I cannot download attachments or photos from yahoo message itself but I can from My Attachments and My photos ... below at the bottom of navigation bar on the left.

No error message ... hourglass fools around for a sec or two and disappears.

I am using FireFox. I will try in IE and report back to you. Tried ... no luck ... same story. Checked Yahoo settings ... nothing that is causing this problem.

Yogiji...IMO most probably u have switched to the new beta version of yahoo mail...it created lotsa problems for me too....i strongly recommend you change your mail setting to classic view...lemme see if i can get you a link....ok....here it is...http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?script=no .....you can either follow this link or use your yahoo mail homepage to switch to classic yahoo mail....that should solve your problem (95%)....if no then come back again....we will apply other solutions...but most probably your problem should be solved by this

Saxena Sahib ... I am on classic version. Never liked beta version ... crowded, noisy, and nosy. If its not broken don't ... obvious Yahoo never heard of old adage.

BhaYa ... it's not a big deal but fact there exists an issue is irritating ... knowing computers ... it might just creepup next time I am into something important.

There is a problem ... I tried registry repair.

hmm...yogiji as u said u r facing the problem in both IE and firefox...the only thing left is to check ur firewal settings for inbound and outbound emails...it wont be in ur interest to divulge on internet what firewal u r using but please go through the help section of it to learn more about the settings meant for inbound/outbound emails...

in the meantime..plz update plug-ins from thi site...https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7

they wont help u in solving ur attachment problem...but will make ur browser more potent ...

and mail yahoo people reg ur peoblem...they are pretty fast in addressing issues

p.s- dont mess with registry....u might end up doing more damage to ur OS...wait for yahoo people to give some solution
