The Prestige

Last night, I saw The Prestige starring Hugh Jackman (X-Men fame) and Christian Bale (Batman). Actually, I'd seen this movie in the theaters when it came out last year and when I saw it's DVD in the BB aisle, I pounced on it. So this was my second sitting and it turned out to be more fun the second time around. The Prestige is about two magicians who are not quite fond of each other (don't want to give away too much) and are set out to out-do each other. The movie starts with the two magicians playing cheap tricks on each other which then turn ugly as the movie progresses. The movie has been set in the late 19th century and even though it is fiction, has been nicely woven with the events of that time. As the movie moves forward, the plot gets thicker and the suspense builds up. You will be hugely surprised with the ending. This movie is a must watch and I highly recommend it. Again, just a brief review coz I want you guys to watch it without me giving away the suspense

4/5

Re: The Prestige

Oh you know what, I had confused this movie with another one which was also about a magician. I forget the name, but I managed to watch half of it. It has Ed Norton I think. It was quite boring and I turned it off.

Aha.. The Prestige.. Yes I think I will watch it now.. Thanks for your recommendation.

Re: The Prestige

Watched this movie last weekend... good fun movie. But the surprise of the movie is that Thomas Edison (yes, the light bulb wala) is the villian in this movie and he is out to squash Tesla (ac current wala)

Watch the other one too, some weeks back, Ed Norton wala... okay movie... streched out story. But Ed is a great actor and it is always good to see him in a movie.
