Message Board components out there

hey guys,

we have just released a beta version of our web-enabled software to a pool of selected users and now, in order to get some feedback, we would like to set up some kind of a message board for the users to use and interact with us and with each other. Our application is in .NET, so preferably looking for a .NET message board component. There are several out there on the net, but just wanted to know if any of you have any experience with any particular one or would like to recommend any one out there. Remember, the message board we want does not have to be as elaborate as echarcha or anything - just a simple, primitive message board system would work.

Sorry yaar.. I have never seen or pursued any message board softwares other than the PHP based vBulletin and phpBoard.

What does your software exactly do?

Well, what happened to your site? I used to check it for last month or more and it seems to be down.

Also, even when I put your link on my front page, your site was working for quite a lot of days after that, but you never put a reciprocal link to echarcha? Why??

No, I want L8Again to reply here. I noticed that as soon as I put a link here, I checked his site. Then I waited for almost 2 weeks but no reciprocal link. Then after about couple of months or so (not sure, but definitely after a long time) I checked and his site was down. Then checked everyday and noticed that site is down everyday. I never sent him an email about why his site is down or why my link was never put up.

I dont really care about getting traffic because some website puts up my link. I am not Google or Yahoo or some commercial vernture selling you goods. So I dont care. Its just a matter of courtesy and I think there is a term for it in the web world - link exchange.

Anyway, I will await L8Again's reply.

Just wondering... did he ask you to put up a link to his site here on echarcha or discuss exchanging links with you? If not, why is he obligated to return the favor? Maybe he doesn't want his traffic diverted elsewhere, so he decided not to add the link back to echarcha.com.

Someone on our site found his site. Many folks liked it. Some suggested to put a link (Termi can search that thread for our convenience).

So I asked him to email me what he would like to put up here (the tag line, etc). Then he emailed me his phone number. We were going to chat about it. Then I could not as I was busy with work.. After a few days when I got the chance, I emailed him and told him that the link is now up.

Again, I really dont care and it does not affect me that a link on his site brings me 1000000 new members or 0 members.
