Not very surprising. Everyone is hurting in this downturn.

Marc Andressen's LoudCloud is now trading at a dollar and change.

Who knows At least from what I have read, things should turn around by the end of the year. The series of interest rate cuts should help in bringing back the economy to its feet.

But then analysts and economists are known to have promised the moon

The net won't die. It is becoming quite important to everyone. But the freebies associated with net won't be availabe for too long. We'll have to start paying for everything, sooner or later.

As far as dot-coms are concerned. Very few are going to survive. How many dot coms had really good business model? Most of the dot-coms started on whims and fancies of morons. Businesses are valued based on the profits they make. There were dot-coms which weren't going to be profitable for several years

When automobile industry was in its infancy, there were 45 odd companies in the US making automobiles. There are a handful remaining now. That's what will happen with this internet business.
