After being bored with all the terrorism news, I got into thinking....when was the first known incidence of terrorism? This question may have multiple answers depending on whom you ask
In Hindu mythology/history in every yug terrorists are born and when number of terrorists outnumbers the number of their victims.....god apparently gets fed up of whining and *****ing of hapless victims and decides to end the show...in effect he lays down foundations for a different class and types of terrorism to follow
In terms of documented history....Egyptians/Nebuchhadnezzar/Alexander/Ashoka/Attila/Mohammed the Prophet/Mahmud Gaznavi/Chengiz Khan/Hulaku/Timur/Hitler etc were all terrorists, depending on whom you ask
....I mean all great conquerors were terrorists...some escaped bad press by giving up terrorism...and talking peace...some died trying in vain...some successfully escaped bad press while perpetrating terrorism (Arafat was one)
Just as prostitution is one of the oldest vices....so is terrorism
. In fact terrorism and prostitution were and are linked. The natural question to ask is can terrorism be eradicated...by harsh or soft measures? Here are some pros and cons of each method.
Advocates of harsh methods seem to suggest that if a certain group of people are exterminated then the ideology dies with them. However history and mythology proves otherwise. For e.g. the Vishnu avatar called Parashuram is supposed to have exterminated Kshatriyas from the face of earth 21 times because kshatriyas were terrorising brahmins
.....but strangely enough....in the next yug, a famous brahmin by name of Ravan ended up terrorising all Kshatriyas....so much so that Vishnu ended up taking an avatar as a kshatriya...in terms of documented history....Islam in its heydays tried to exterminate non-believers but they could not exterminate them completely...for example, hinduism/zoroasterism and judaism are famous examples....in fact these religions ended up corrupting Islam practitioners
Advocates of soft methods say that if the injustice is ended terrorism will stop...but history proves otherwise. For example, giving away Czech republic to Hitler did not satiate him enough and he unleashed war on Europe
...as can be observed, soft methods do not work either.
Therefore, it can be inferred that it is "danged if you don't, damned if you do" scenario.
One thing is for sure...PEACE is an illusory term...there never was and there never will be anything called absolute PEACE.....WAR and PEACE are two poles that give rise to dynamism we call LIFE....so just accept it and enjoy
