Please take off the vile picture which is a parody and mockery of Lord Shiva on your frontpage. Please dont hurt sentiments. Its Mahashivratri. Your creative artists have crossed the limits with Lord Shiva wearing sunglasses. PLEASE STOP THIS!!!

the Goatee...did look kinda funky, though using it on Shiva ji is quite a sad choice, but artisitc freedom, atleast they didn't depict him on chaddhis as they did to some other Hindu God's in US ...nonetheless there are no grades of disrespect towards God, so its in bad humor I guess, that too on Shivratri...it almost sounds like the work of an ABCD on this pic...

there used to be rounds of forwards which talked abt ABCD"s version of Diwali calling shri Ram as a dude n stuff like that...howcome ppl laugh at those and object such pics....why even eat beef, nandi cow is also worshipped, by eating beef ur disrespecting it even further....then why be so infuriarated by a bold attempt on art which is not even indecent..

Take any religion ... there are some symbols that are looked upon as god themselves ... People find solace when they either look at these pictures physically or mentally retrieve them from their memory ...

Probably its the same with our loved ones ... we all have one good image of our loved ones that we have in front of us while thinking about them or while talking to them over a long distance call ...

The prayer to God is also a long-distance call ... I think these pictures depict the Gods with which most people may not be comfortable with ...

but then again, there is a facet of spirituality that hints a personal relationship with God ... which for some would imply God depicted in a common man's attire with supernatural powers ...

I know that story where an ABCD relates Ramayan. It was funny. However, there was no intentional malice. Here there is intentional malice by showing sunglasses on Lord Shiva.

1) dyed blonde locks on the hair

2) the ear ring

There are few among the masses that are the chosen ones i.e. the yogi's that have developed a level of spirituality that they can see God and they dont need any help of physical depiction by way of statues or posters or symbols ... for them this image of God wearing a sunglass or having a goatee would not in any way affect their relationship with God ...

for the rest like us, while we are still working at our relationship with HIM, I think this image acts as a mental block which would take time to be erased from our memory ...

I dont know from where you have got this information from ... But Jainism doesnt hold any malice towards any other religion ... As a matter of fact, it is a common imperception among non jains, that Jainism is a religion ... It is a set of principles that lead 24 common man (known as tirthankaras) to attain self-realization in the form of Nirvana ...

However, as with any religion, Jainism has its own problems, like the fighting going on between Shwetambars and Digambars regarding who should possess some holy sites and which ones of the old statues are digamber or shwetamber ...
