Talking patak family in pickle over long drawn legal battle in london

this one has been running in the high court in london for a few weeks now. it is amazing how these rich and powerful families can be torn apart by money

Patak's family feud 'is settled'

The Patak family empire is worth millions of pounds
The bitter legal battle which tore apart the family behind the multi-million pound Patak's Indian food empire looks to have been settled.
The High Court was told a provisional agreement thought to be worth £12m has been reached.

The case hinged on claims by two of the Pathak daughters that they had been cheated out of their shares.

Sisters Chitralekha Mehta, 56, and Anila Shastri, 52, are expected to receive about £6m each.

who's in the pickle?

I agree with the sisters, no distinction should be made between son and daughter when it comes to dividing ones property among children... This is quite rampant in India..

and Vakil Sahib is there a law in India protecting rights of hindu women when it comes to inheriting property of their parents?? If such a law is there, does the women getting married affect this right?

although I prefer the children carve their own financial independence, not depending on their parents...
