Why in Hindi Movies....

I don't know by the name of caste in Hindi Movies why Thakurs are always shown as Bad people,If it is a village Movie, there will always be a Thakur Villain, who is dicatator, lustful and what not.
If Thakurs are shown as good they will be shown as nearly mad.

I am going to file a suit agains Humar rights commision against this,In fact Thakurs have very good relations with the villagers in real life,
we need them to work on our fields and they need us for employment, but in hindi movies Thakurs are always shown as Crazy,

None other castes are shown as bad,why thakurs are pointed out

Randheer,

Patels (or Mukhiya) are also shown as bad people. But I am not going to do anything. They are movies, if we do it like that then there will not be any character left in the industry who can play bad peoples role.

How did you get those fields? Its by committing atrocities on the poor and extortion .

Lets list all the Hindi film stereotypes here ..

1. Thakur, Zamindar = evil villain
2. Poor farmer = honest, hard working
3. Rich guy = evil, drunk, womanizer
4. Fishermen = always singing, dancing happy
5. Christians = Drunk, cant speak hindi properly, usually good
6. Sindhis = Stupid businessmen who can be tricked easily
7. Parsi men = Stupid and hen-pecked
8. Tribals = Always attack with spears, have a feast for any reason
9. Banjaras = Singing, dancing, protective of their women
10. Muslims = god-fearing good people, often blind (Rehman Chacha)
11. Havaldars = Bumbling nitwits , usually Marathis
12. Tamilians = Clowns who usually break into Bharat Natyam without reason
13. Chinese = Usually Nepali, surprisingly can speak Hindi
14. Americans/Europeans = Again, can speak Hindi, and always in India to buy drugs or sell guns
15. Politicians = corrupt (duh!!)
16. Factory Workers = Hard working, poor, will go on strike even if a 3 legged dog tells them to
17. Prostitutes = noble souls, unfortunate, victims of circumstance

Any others ??

Basically, Indian movies are made to fit the mental mould of the majority (poor people). They are always shown as honest, hard working people who can be easily tricked. If you are wealthy, you are automatically evil. Unless you are the hero. Then you are good because you distribute that wealth to anyone who asks for it.

-Christians : Drunk, cant speak hindi properly, usually good
plus they either own a bar or a bakery. Sometimes they are fishermen. In this case, their traits are a combination of christians as well as fishermen. Use the word, "man" a lot...eg. "kya Man", "wot Man".

-Hero's sister : Usually raped and killed by villain's younger brother or villian himself. Else, she marries hero's best friend, who is usually a chikna police inspector (wearing half sleeved shirts). Sometimes, after marriage, both are killed.

-Villian's younger brother: He is always the apple of villian's eye. He always has a group of friends with whom he guzzles beer sitting on the bonnet of an open jeep. Studies in the same college as hero's sister.

-Guests in the party : They are all trained dancers and are always in couples. They always dance in perfect sync with each other.

-Old Servant (Maali kaka, ramu kaka etc.) : YOu can hear the milk of human kindness going squish-squish inside their hearts. They take a lot of $hit from at least one family member. The hero (or the heroine) usually consider them higher than their own father/mother.

-Public : They are heartless creatures, who spring out of nowhere when the hero, heroine or their family members are in a really sad situation (eg. the makaan malik kicking them out of their home, or the heroine getting pregnant before marriage), and curse them. Sometimes they pelt stones too.

-The third person in a love triangle : Poor sucker has to die in the end.

Hero/Heroine's Friends : They have no families, no career plans, no lafda's, no lives of their own at all. They usually spend all the time helping out the hero or the heroine.

Sikhs : Loud, brash, extra-jolly, absolutely clean hearted. Will make refrences to lassi, kukkad etc. all the time. Usually truck drivers.

Big Bhai and Smelly Bhai,

Good observation and analysis. It is almost true.

In this connection whenever I got a chance to see "Jara Hatke" movies like Gruh-Pravesh (Sanjeevkumar, Sharmila, Sarika), Izazat (Rekha, Nasirrudin, Shashi) I enjoy it. Specifically I enjoy the end, which is not sterio type and is suppose to match with real world senario.

Unfortunately these kinds of movies are not box office hits and only few producers can afford to develope it.
