Questions on women's sports

Please read this entire post before responding.

The issue has to do with womens sports. Initially , when I was in school, I used to think .. Why womens sports. Why not just have True Equality and open competition i.e. have women compete with men for being on sports teams. I have since realized that it would be unfair to women as men are naturally more superior to women in pure physical athletic performance (no flaming .. its true). Supporters of womens sports will admit that.

So ..
Stipulation #1 .. Women are athletically inferior to men.

So, I understand the need for women and men sports being segregated, to provide a fair opportunity to women. So far so good ...

Here are my questions ..

1. Why are women (esp tennis players) always complaining that they get less money than men, when they, by admission, are putting on an inferior product.

2. How does anyone justify .. Womens chess ?? Has it been proven or accepted anywhere that men are also superior mentally. I don think so.. hence, the question. There are also other similar sports, where physical strength or stmaina is not needed and yet there are separate leagues for women .. e.g. pool/billiards, bowling etc. How are these leagues justified for women ??

I am not being chauvinistic, but I would like to know the answers to these questions.

I think women do better in gymnastics than men do. I think that they can do several manoeuvers that men can't.

just the way the two sexes are built.

I know a sport where the sexes compete for the same trophy. Equestrian. But then it has more to do with horses than the jockeys I guess.

Add one more sports event to the list, where they can compete in just one event - figure skating. I have seen both men and women who are equally good in this category

Men have as good figures as the women or the women have as ugly figures as the men??

Depends on how see it and what are your inclinations.

I personally feel that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.... Both the sexes have the laurels and hardys

well, ice skating and gymnastics, are judged a little differently in that in the mens division power and athleticism is important, whereas in the womens it is grace and athleticism.

examples ..

ice skating .. a lot of men can do quad loops now. Women are still on a triple. But if you run them together, the women look more graceful.

Gymnastics .. men have rings and pommel horse in gymnastics which women will not be able to do with the same dexterity, but women look much better on the floor exercises.

Anyway, I was referring more to quantifiable objective sports, not sports that are judged by people and thereby subjective.

There should be separate events, but nobody should compalin about prize amount...

Chess, bowling, pool......Still maintain no separate events needed.
If you are good, no matter what you sex is...You will stand out from the rest of the crowd...

No prize money to be awarded. Simply maintain differerent classes in competition as exists today.

Kabaddi is another such sport where men and women should be encouraged to compete against one another. Once this has been done, it will only be a matter of time before inter-gender kabaddi takes precedence over cricket in terms of popularity and the number of aspirants.
