Saw this one on VHS. Ajay Devgun is maturing as a really good actor. Gracy Singh plays as his wife and has a minimal presence. One good thing is that this movei is fast paced and the pace is not broken by unnecessary song and dance sequences. There is just one song and then one more song in the background as some events unfold.
The story is about Ajay Devgun who is posted as a Superintendent of Police (SP) to a remote area called Tejpur - infamous for its corruption and crime rate. Ajay comes in and starts cleaning house. Initially no officer helps him but eventually four of them realise their real duty and join Ajay. In their sezt to clean house, these officers blind nabbed convicts and pour acid in their eyes. They refer to the acid as Gangajal which cleanses the criminals. This reminds you of Bhagalpur blindings where some jailed convicts were blinded by police brutality. Ajay Devgun does nto like this and files a complaint. In the end all of Tejpur wants "Gangajal" treatment for criminals. Ajay opposes it till the very end. The two main criminals are finally killed by the mob. The movie ends with Ajay still opposing Gangajal treatment. Well, I did nto mention all the details here but I suggest that do watch this film when you get the time. |

Movie is really good but the end is not convincing . Its as if the Villians have to die at the hands of the Hero .
the last 20-25 minutes are not well scripted . It just turns ends like any other masala flick . But a sure watch .. a awe ispiring movie . Esp the blinding sequences are really well shot
