Priya "Rajni" Tendulkar dead
Priya Tendulkar, best known as Rajni after the popular television serial directed by Basu Chatterjee, died of cardiac arrest at her residence at Prabhadevi in Mumbai on Thursday.
An occasional presence in Hindi films (Rajiv Rai's Gupt, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya), Priya was best known as a theatre personality, consumer activist and talk show hostess. Her programme, The Priya Tendulkar Show, was immensely popular and won the Screen Videocon Award for Best Talk Show. Daughter of one of India's foremost playwrights Vijay Tendulkar, Priya was known for her aggressive approach towards her guests in talk shows. She had done innumerable plays in Marathi (Pygmalion, Anji, Kamla, Kanyadaan, Sakharam Binder to name a few) and Gujarati films. Former husband Karan Razdan, also her screen husband in Rajni, directed the telefilm, Roshni. Priya's own compilation of short stories, Jyacha Tyacha Prashna won the Damani Puraskar. Some of her other works are Janmalela Pratyekala, Asahi and Panchatarankit. Asahi, a collection of the columns which she wrote for an eveninger, won the Sahitya Parishad Puraskar. Panchtarankit, a collection of essays, won the Delhi Katha Puraskar. In an interview with Screen, Priya had stated that her childhood dream was to be Amrita Sher Gil or W Somerset Maugham, make a lot of money and travel a lot. http://www.rediff.com/entertai/2002/sep/19priya.htm

also,does anyone remember marathi actress Ranjana??
She died 2 years ago  I just gotta know that yesterday.I used to love this actress..will post a link if i get any info on her..

here's the bad news..
MARCH 3: Noted Marathi actress Ranjana Deshmukh, whose career came to an abrupt end in 1987 in an accident, died on Friday of diabetes at Raheja Hospital. She was 45 and is survived by her actress mother Vatsala Deshmukh and aunt Sandhya.
Like Sandhya, she was introduced to the big screen by V Shantaram in Chandanachi Choli Ang Aang, directed by Kiran Shantaram in 1975. She then starred in the lead role in Shantaram's next film, Jhunj. Ranjana won the best actress award in 1980 from the state government for Are Sansar Sansar. She bagged the award again for Gup Chup Gup Chup in 1983. Her other key films include Sushila, Gondhalat Gondhal, Mumbaicha Fojdar, Jhakmi Vaghin, Bhujang and Ek Daav Bhutacha. Ranjana's legs were paralysed in an accident while she was on her way to a film shoot to Bangalore. Ranjana was very unfortunate
She was in love with Ashok Saraf. Then she had that accident where she broke her leg. Ashok Sarag ditched her and went for... what's her name.. forgto it...
Anyway, Ranjana was all alone after Ashokl Saraf ditched her.
