Amazing Indian practices

So while chatting with somebody I came to know you don't wear shoes in Gujarat, not in offices anyway. "Work is worship" taken too far?

I've never heard of this even though I've been to Gujarat once. Share more of such weird/amazing things you find out about different places/practices in India.

P.S. I could write a whole book about my surprising moments for the first time in south India.
