I dont know about your citizenship, but if you are a US Citizen then there is NO visa on arrival for US citizens. Please check this Indian government website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/

There is a visa-on-arrival program but the list of countries does not have US in it. I maybe completely wrong, but please check this e-Visa section of the above website.

There have been cases, reported in local newspapers, where parents living in the USA with Indian passport have visited India with their children born in the USA and not carrying their visa/OCI/PIO cards; and entry being denied for their children at the airports.

So please check with the website I have provided or visit your nearest Indian consulate.

yatra.com provides "ecash" for each flight booked that you can use for subsequent flights to get formidable discounts.

Re: My upcoming India trip

Nappy was missing the summer, wanted to taste what real summer felt like. From CA's 12-15C summers to 43-48C summer of India.

That reminds me of a misconception southies have about north India.. I just laugh every time I hear it. Tumhara wahan itna garmi nahi hota isliye tum log to gora hai.. I was like pencho 46F kam garmi hai? Then they go.. No man it's not so hot in north india you have cold temperatures no.. I'm like geography and general knowledge is beyond you folks.. Let's talk IT.. That's all you know.

Re: My upcoming India trip

^^
I was countering another one in a lunch discussion who thought that summers and winters in Australia were just 2 months off northern hemisphere. I asked him "Don't you remember anything from school Geography". My better half says that such behavior makes me an outcast among gults. So no leads on jobs, deals, etc. for me.

I heard that gultis have an obsession to move and settle abroad. is that true or is it a generalisation? How come no Bombay stopover? And the customary discussion on having an echarcha reunion and then everybody going silent?
