Re: Newly arrived Trailers of Hindi/English Movies.

Two low budget movies targeting the urban audience have hit the bulls eye recently. Barelly ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Savdhan have done really well that the trade sites are mincing words now.

The former is more classy than the latter. The director Ashwini Iyer, though born and brought up in Bombay have brought that authentic UP feel with the help of her husband Nitesh Tiwari - director of Dangal

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has that small town mass appeal similar to Tanu Weds Manu and Rhanjhnaa (due to Anand L Rai factor) . Though touted as remake of Tamil movie Kalyana Samayal Sadham, by the same director, I would say that it is just inspired by / based on the original with completely different screenplay, ghost directed by Anand L Rai. It is not possible for a Chennai-based guy to direct a movie with an authentic feel of lower middle class Delhi /Haridwar. The original had an urban upper middle class setting, which obviously will not work for Bollywood market due to cultural reasons.

Barielly ki Barfi
