a question here, is Ramadan and Ramzaan same, I mean in India we used to call it Ramzaan, and all the outside world its Ramadaan, whats the difference

and How do we wish this to muslim brother ( I mean whats the right words)
open the web page by clicking this

http://dictionary.al-islam.com/Arb/I...=6939&IF=Quran

There is an icon of head set on this page. Click it to listen
the Arabic text. Ramadan is the 2nd word. you can interrupt
by clicking again to start it over. keep listening
until you get it. It is much closer to 'da' but not exactly
Da as in daal.

scrollbar is on the left side.

(Serious)
It happens when one language influence other language(s).

Urdu itself is a Turkish word which means 'Army'. Urdu
developed as a common language for people of different
regions.

Besides Arabic, Urdu is also derived from Farsi, Turkish, and
other minor language. When Arabic came to Persia (now Iran) and
Qustun'tunya (now Turkey) people due to their peculiar accent
pronounced Za instead of Da which later became an acceptable
pronunciation of "Da" in subcontinent.

Arabic alphabet "Du'ad" is not easy to pronounce let alone
representing it in English alphabets.

Such alteration can be seen in other languages too.

For example there is no alphabet in Arabic which sounds like P, the closest
is B, that is why Arab say Bakistan instead of Pakistan.

Chinese if you notice have trouble pronouncing 'th'. Instead of saying
"I think" they say something which sounds more like "I sink".
To them TH sounds like S.

another example, Indian pronounce "J" for "Z" like Bajaar instead of Bazaar.
and some people pronounce Urdu alphabet 'Pay' to 'Fay' like Fool instead of
Phool(flower).
