Mohawk haircut or variants thereof in different cultures

While Mohawk haircut is typically associated with Native Americans (Red Indians), one finds its prevalence in many cultures. Wonder what is the significance of the Mohawk hair cut or such head gear? Could it be that some superior ability or obedience (or defiance) was indicated in some universal ancient culture? The question is open for e-charcha...but before that, enjoy the "Mohawk haircut" pics

1. Mohawk haircut

2. Tibetan monk headgear

3. ancient Greek army headgear

4. Roman army helmet

5. British Police helmet

6. Bombay fireman helmet

7. Samurai Hairstyle (a cousin of Mohawk hairstyle...)
