Re: Weekend dillemma - What to watch?
So, all the hero bashing 10 guys at a time or Rajnikant killing 2 guys with a shot and the help of a blade seem so 20th century. Saw this 'Pandaga Chesuko' on Yupp TV. Here, a 23 year old girl bids 20 million Euros for a Rugby club and gets it for free after betting the owner for a touchdown
![]() ![]() So that sets the stage with a similar hero, who proposes to marry this girl to set the markets ablaze. And this girl is more a camp than the heroine, but still a head turner ( Sonal chauhan). The heroine ( Rakul preet) is an environment wali who blocks hero'd factory. Like all Gult movies, there is another piece of untold story at the later part. So, the high flying characters who touch the spectrum figures in dealings, eye candy heroines and comedy here and there make it more watchable than Bahuvali.

Re: Weekend dillemma - What to watch?
Watched Bad Words - about a spelling bee competition but quite funny. Jason Bateman. I'm in the slapstick / comedy movie phase so watched quite a few of the mindless ones, Blended (Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore), Bridesmaids, Horrible Bosses 1 and 2, Mr. Popper's Penguins (Jim Carrey), Just Go With It (Aniston, Sandler) and Pitch Perfect 1 and 2. All very light movies.

![]() Yeah, I can imagine. My husband had made me watch Gunda once. I was fed up after the first 15 minutes. So, yes. To each his own is best. And I never accompany him to Salman movies (he watches first day, all by himself, in the theater). ![]() |

Re: Weekend dillemma - What to watch?
2-3 weekends back, I wanted to start a thread on'best encounter scenes' in Bollywood. Googling on this I found that there was a sequel to 'Ab tak Chhappan' which came and went without a trace. So I watched it on YouTube. Slow moving, with a lot of heavy gyaan by Nana patekar and you already guess the suspense, not that it is there for long.
Overall. Not a patch on the original, but contrarian me would prefer this to many 100 cr movies.

Re: Weekend dillemma - What to watch?
On my contrarian tastes, going back to 2002 in the memory lane. I was in Loin City and my Madrasi friend tell me 'let's watch a Tamil movie this weekend' I say OK. I meet him at the theater and he tells me, "I wanted you to see a Kamal movie but that is the next show. I didn't tell you about this one because it is a regular masala movie and you may not like it. I say 'no issues. Let's do a back to back'. So no subtitling and he interprets it for me and guys what, I love this movie. Total masala entertainer plus probably the first dishum dishum movie against pollution.
Loved 2 songs. Here they go-
Now comes the actual movie I was meant to see and like. 'Anne Sivam' starring kamal hasan and Madhavan. It's opening sequence was copied in my name is khan and we see Kamalhasan as a half paralysed guy playing a union leader and Madhavan as an ad guy. He tries to peddle commie ideas and Madhavan gets a crappy role. I told my friend 'What a crappy movie'. Other than him and another one every Madrasi was aghast that I didn't like this movie. Some even blamed it on my seeing it back to back and had I seen it standalone I would have liked it. On a sidebar, The 'other hero' in Hakla's movie always gets a raw deal be it Sunny Deol in Darr, Akshay Kumar in DTPH and so on. But with Kamal, Hakla got a taste of his own medicine in 'Hey Ram'. So does Madhavan get in this one.

Re: Weekend dillemma - What to watch?
Has anyone watched old Mahesh Bhatt movie "Kabzaa" starring Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal (Velji Bhai)? I want to watch it again but cannot get a link on the net. Neither is there a DVD or CD of the movie.
