Question Your morning routine

All of us have aged some, at least since 2000 when echarcha started. And maybe this topic has been discussed before, but here it is again.

What is your morning routine?
For me, its wake up, realize I am not younger, feel bad about it

No seriously, I wake up, go straight to pee, then brush my teeth, shave - yes I shave everyday except Sunday - and then to the kitchen for a tall glass of warm water, then breakfast (milk and cereal or oats everyday except weekends) and then a nice

In younger days, it used to be a newspaper which gave company, but now its stupid WhatsApp and Gmail and work email and some news sites.

Talking Re: Your morning routine

Wake up, drink water from a copper vessel after heating it a bit, exercise for 15 minutes or so, , then bath, shave, get ready, breakfast. Sometimes Iíll say my prayers before breakfast. I shave alternate days, except on weekends as per schedule.

Re: Your morning routine

wake up at 4:30. Let the dog out in the backyard to run around.
brush/shower/pack lunches/ school bags/ drop kids at daycare, take the 6:20 train to work.

If he is working nights, wake up at 4:30, take the dog for a walk, shower, pack lunches and get the 6:20 train.

usually coffee on the train. Breakfast at work.

Re: Your morning routine

Wake up at 5:30, 6:30 or 7:30... depending on schedule. Drink a glass of water, room-temp. Start brushing, while checking for important e-mail/messages and building pressure. Browse rest of messages while Exercise/stretch for 5 - 10 min. Then depending on schedule, shower and breakfast or breakfast and shower. And depending on day, shave before shower. Get ready and out the door.

I typically wake up at 7:00 AM. Then as I said, go straight to pee, then brush my teeth, shave - yes I shave everyday except Sunday - and then to the kitchen for a tall glass of warm water, then breakfast (milk and cereal or oats everyday except weekends) and then a nice with whatsapp/email/news in hand.

In summer time, exercise is 15 minutes of swimming for cardio purposes in the housing complex pool in the evening. In winter time, its exercise like jumping jacks, mountain climbers at home, again for cardio purposes.

I know that I cannot get 6 packs, but as per doctor's orders, cardio is a must. Everyday. Only Sunday holiday for exercises.

Many years ago, when I was fresh out of engineering college and at a job in Mumbai, I started noticing that my stomach get a burning feeling at least 2 times a day. Initially I took some antacid like Digene, etc.

Then a colleague told me to consult his sister who was completing her M.D. in a government medical college. So I went to see her.

She told me in this language and I still remember it - 'You are a engineering student and must have studied chemistry. Your stomach should ideally have a ph value of 7. When you sleep at night after dinner, your body receives the least amount of food i.e. you are fasting for the longest period. In the day time you drink water, tea, eat snacks, etc.

Your stomach keeps secreting gastric juices throughout the day and night. So in the morning when you wake up, the ph value of your stomach goes towards the acidic side. To dilute this acid and bring down the ph value, you need to drink water. So drink water the first thing in the morning. It can be room temperature water.'

I have followed that advise till date and it works. So do drink a glass of water - maybe a little warm or regular room temprature - and see the difference within a week.

I used to regularly have ulcers in my mouth, was a chronic problem. May be around 2 yrs back, i was advised to drink a glass of water first thing in the morning, water that has been stored overnight in a copper vessel.

It has helped me immensely.
