Moving to Dallas
Planning to move to Dallas from a mid sized Midwestern city.
Still unsure if it's a prudent decision! |

Looks like you like Chiranjivi’s dancing. So a good decision.

Re: Moving to Dallas
No state tax in Texas, so you might save a bit more.

Re: Moving to Dallas
Well...this midwestern city that I currently live in, doesn't really offer much in terms of living.
Dallas seems to be a thriving metro, with tech jobs growing rapidly. Any insight? |

Re: Moving to Dallas
^^ isn’t Dallas overgrown? I mean I heard of IT boom and jobs like 10 yrs back.
Every Gult opened a consultancy in Texas because of no tax like 10-15 yrs back. More jobs but also too many people to take those jobs. |

Re: Moving to Dallas
One Macu origin guy says that his daughter works in Costco in dull arse and people keep asking her if she is Indian. When she replies ‘I am American’, some reply back ‘you should not forget your heritage’

Re: Moving to Dallas
If you are a non-Indian in Dallas, you have to be mentally prepared for some racism.

Re: Moving to Dallas
Why I say so is.. Houston Rockets bought this hot NBA rookie from NY Knicks around 2011 (shooting 3 pointers at will) .. being Chinese they thought he will bring a lot of involvement from the large Chinese community in Houston.
The 23-year-old Harvard grad is the first American-born player of Taiwanese or Chinese descent to play in the NBA, and he's drawn comparisons to the NFL's Tim Tebow because of his devout Christianity and unlikely success. Last edited by sarv_shaktimaan; November 12th, 2018 at 06:56 AM. |
