Post Bihar Assembly Elections 2015 Results

Bihar votes for the same old

The BJP has once again made a huge mistake in Bihar. They have forgotten that the politics in Bihar is all about caste. Sad, but true!

Quote:
Spectacular comeback for Lalu Yadav as Grand Alliance decimates BJP in Bihar

The Grand Alliance on Sunday routed the BJP-led NDA in Bihar to score a landslide two-thirds majority in the assembly giving chief minister Nitish Kumar a third term in office in a battle in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi staked his all.

Making a spectacular comeback after the severe drubbing in the last year's Lok Sabha polls at the hands of Modi, the newly-formed JD(U)-RJD-Congress alliance secured 178 seats in the 243-member House. RJD emerged the leader of the pack with 80 seats while JD(U) bagged 71. Both the parties had contested 101 seats each. Congress also made impressive gains winning 27 seats out of 41. It had won only 4 last time.

The BJP-led NDA, for which Modi mounted an aggressive campaign addressing more than 30 rallies, bagged 58 seats. BJP on its own got 53 seats out of 157 it contested while its allies also put up a poor show. LJP, led by Ram Vilas Paswan, and RLSP of Upendra Kushwaha got two seats each.

Former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM won only one of the two seats he contested and lost in all the 19 others it fought in.

Talking Re: Bihar Assembly Elections 2015

One silver lining for the BJP is that the 'vikas' (progress) that they proposed was rejected in favour of the same old caste based politics by Biharis which leads to indirect blessings and thanks from the people of places like Mumbai and other metropolitan cities as their supply of cheap labour from Bihar continues unabated!

Another silver lining is that Bihar may suffer and this will help bjp again in 2019.

If BJP thinks that it has lost because of caste politics , then they will lose next elections as well.
Caste plays important role all over India - but in just concluded Bihar elections , it was much ore than just caste.

Re: Bihar Assembly Elections 2015

All of them have to just parrot one thing RSS and communal, they don't have to do anything, no one holds them accountable. This will be repeated in Bengal, UP. I think India will go back to old way of politics, no one knows you in the world, nor want to do business with you, the so called secular will govern in bits and pieces. More reservation, more dole outs..same thing all over again.

In Mumbai when shiv sena plays the same thing Baahri vs Aandari, biharis have big problem with it. When NK plays the same regional card, there is no problem. No one asks him why this regionalism? dividing people on regional lines?

Exactly !
Modi never spoke about mehengai no steps to even curb it,Dal is almost Rs200 per kg,and the latest is the Diwali gift of .5% cess on petrol for swach bharat abhiyan.
He goes promising money to states and countries but can't arrange funds for cleanliness ?
In Maharashtra there is already a cess on petrol and now this additional one from Modi.

Increase in service tax and now cess is this good governance?

Re: Bihar Assembly Elections 2015

People of other states do not understand politics of Bihar and UP.
The difference between government and governed is same as difference between beak and jaws.

"Jiske chonch hai woh chonch maarta hai, jiske jabde hain woh jabda", there is no difference between Biharis and their government.

In case you were really serious, that is not how democracy works.
Your honest Abe defined democracy as «Government of the people, by the people, for the people» .

So how would you explain the fact that Yadavs are still voting for Lalu no matter what? Even 1.25 lakh crores package is not sufficient for Biharis?

It was mainly RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's comment on reservation in the backdrop of Patel agitation that was twisted and used by the wily duo of Nitish and Lalu.. to say BJP is against reservations, and the moment you get that in the head of UP/Bihar people they act like a herd of cattle. This one thing won them the elections, other factors are negligible.

I watched NDTC for an hour when counting trends were coming in. Initially they had NDA ahead of MGB in 2:1 ratio. Prannoy, Shekhar, Dorab, Yogendra Saleem Yadav and gang were dissing MGB and saying aspirational youth of Bihar doesn't care for Lalu style of caste politics anymore. Then after trends turned completely, their language and mood brightened, started pinpointing how can Modi say this, how can Shah do this, public is watching and listening.

Yes, the govt was caught sleeping on this issue. The prices of dal have been high for many months now, creeping up to over 200 per kilo.

Digital India or foreign tours that bring long term benefits are good but don't matter to common man. Modi has to keep inflation and commodities in check proactively. Scrambling during elections to control prices is his govt's fault. WTF is the food minister doing, whoever the F he/she is? I googled to find out its Ram Vilas Paswan.

Re: Bihar Assembly Elections 2015 Results

What bothers me is, people like Lalu is the real reason why developed countries look down upon Indians. Sometimes he exposes his true self.

What is election dynamics? You cannot do anything about hardcore supporters. It is borderline supporters that play key role.
Laloo was thrashed by Nitish twice. Laloo has gotten votes because he is with Nitish.
