Could be that, like everywhere, minorities might have some problems or fears, but not to that extend as you claim. Receding population, doesn’t seems to be because of conversion. If 400 years of so-called mughal oppression could not eliminate hindus from india, how come its happening in Bangladesh? Riots also doesn’t seem to be the reason, the last one was during babri musjid demolition, that’s 10 years back.

Are you sure those pics are not from some crime scene or from some bangladeshi movie (the second one) and you are passing it off as a threat to hinduism?

are you denying that there is some persecution of hindus in bangladesh? or Are you justifying the hindu persecution in bangaldesh in return for naming of some hall at a university?

no , receding population is not largely due to conversion......the hindus are just fleeing away to india .

the mughals were a muslim minority ruling the majority hindus , but in bangladesh the majority are muslims .

in pakistan ,the hindus are down from 15 percent at the time of independence to just 1.5 percent today , so whats so unbelievable about receding population ??

i found these photos here--

Some might be there. All minorities, irrespective of religion or country, have the same complain. What i mean is, thats nothing to make a big deal out of it.

Saying there are complaints everywhere is glossing over the issue at hand. There is something called scale and proportion. The persecution of minorities in some countries (like Bangladesh for instance) is far higher than the "norm". Grabbing land from Hindus is just one of the many pointers. In South Asia, land grabbing is not uncommon and people from all religions are the hapless victims, but in Bangladesh, a disproportionate number of Hindus seem to be affected by this.

You can ask yourself a simple question, "Where does Bangladesh fall in the list of countries as far as treatment of minorities is concerned?"

How you can gauge a norm? Do you thing killing 10 people is more heinous than killing 5?

Bangladesh is secular, but an Islamic country. You can’t expect an Islamic country to declare ramnavami or krishnashtami as national day. But there are lots of mandirs, pujas and pandals in bangladesh and hindus are having good time.

Ashdoc’s post can be created for any community which has a decreasing population. Lets take india and parsi community. Google and take their decreasing count by year or decade. Then get a horrible photograph from net and say a certain professor is killed by hindus (not meant particularly, but as a majority in india). Then one similar (second pic) picture drawn or a scene from a movie or theatre and caption it so-and-so batliwala or glasswala before being killed.

Then a write up mentioning all the benefits enjoyed by the parsi community (so that it would not sound biased), but countering with imaginary stories of persecution; and then ending with saying though india is secular, but hindus being majority religion persecute minorities.

Ashdocji, percentage is often gives incorrect picture, so would like to see figures in absolute number
In India muslim population grew from 12% in 1991 to 16% in 2001 and hindu population decreased in percentage not in numbers. So how many hindus were forcibly converted or were killed by muslims in India. Muslim population grew at the rate of 30% decadal growth and hindu at 20% decadal growth.
These muslims are utter fools don’t you feel so, what is the point of flaunting these picture, how many times did Americans flaunted drone hit people?
How many times Hindus flaunted pictures of Muslims they murdered in huge numbers in 91 and 02 in equally brutal way?

But these idiots flaunted it and ruined it, they could have their own war against terrorism and could have killed as many as they want in cool American style. they could have blamed these hindus as ULFA or Naga supporter and eliminated them in american style

University halls means nothing actually, Pakistan has cities like Risalpur, Bahawalpur etc, and pur is hindu city name, muslim city name ends with abaad not pur
