I don't get it ...

Deleted my post to check it later ... was it offensive in any manner?

Re: Do you have a Guru ?

Are nahi pai.. kay ka offensive if we are friends phir offence sorry and all are bull shit.. tu mere ko love day bol mai tere ko love day bolunga.. operative word is love.

I was actually expecting a funny retort..

As in Kids to Pelu: :middlefinger:

sorts.. as far as me concerned.. koi gal nai.. take it away.. I don't take offense.. I give it back and if possible with a reasonable data etc ki aap log bhi jaankar ho jaao or else apun bhi majaaak karenga and such.. gussa nahi hota mai.. it is a faltu timewaste. Bas maa behan gaalis I do not entertain and I will let you know that if you slip up.. I use those exclusively for inanimate objects..like Madarch0d.. table.. Madarch0d internet.. or public figures.. a. la.. Madarch0d.. narendra Modi, MMS, Sonia, Govinda, Guddudhanoa, Obama, Osama etc.. geddit.

I am wondering though I need a guru and want to see if there is anyone who can shed some light on procuring a guru and what to expect. I am hoping that would be utar and chadhav plus spiritual path as well.
You could actually start by visiting places like Chinmaya Mission. May not be a single guru, but such 'satsang', could lead you to your guru.

That sounds more like, "Shatth Sangh" (shatth as in crooks) to me

Re: Do you have a Guru ?

There have been new age gurus and recent gurus.
Opinions on some of them -
Swami Chinmayananda - Least controversial of all. he seemed to explain ancient concepts in current context quite well. Like that Varnashrama is more a division of labor and that birth does not guarantee a varna giving the example of Vishwamitra, who was not born a Brahmin but became one. Chinmaya mission started by him also runs good schools across the country. More Hindu organizations could do that.

Satya Sai Baba - quite controversial. Many news items on him too and as his funeral showed, a lot of high an mighty were his followers. But behind all that, he did a good amount of social work. Realized that after enrolling my kid in 'Bal Vikas'. The volunteers are very dedicated and try to teach general good points like kindness to the kids.

Osho - Sex and Rolls Royces is what comes to mind. But he had some philosophy too. A couple of his talks on population control i caught on TV seemed very logical. I was attracted to his idea that one should not repress ones desires. Sounds correct.. But some versions of Bhagvat teach the exact opposite. will share those some other time.
