Looks like Bhakts are comfortable in dreaming big these days, even when they are drunk. They can afford to dream about bullet trains instead of "Garibi Hatao"

Another UPA scam unearthed (??unmooned??), this time by NASA !!! The guilty won't be spared.

India's 'Lost' Chandrayaan-1 Found Orbiting Moon: NASA

Written by Pallava Bagla | Updated: March 10, 2017 17:40 IST

HIGHLIGHTS
ISRO launched the Chandrayaan-1 lunar probe on October 22, 2008
Communication with the lunar probe was lost on August 29, 2009
NASA found the Chandrayaan-1 orbiting 200 km above the lunar surface.
India's first unmanned mission to the moon- Chandrayaan 1- which was believed lost, is still orbiting the moon, say NASA scientists.

The Chandrayaan-1, which cost $79 million, was launched in 2008 to map the moon's surface and look for precious resources. It was assigned a two-year mission. Scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) lost contact with Chandrayaan-1.

Now, scientists at NASA have successfully located the spacecraft still circling some 200 kilometres above the lunar surface.

Finding the spacecraft required some "detective work because the last contact with the spacecraft was on August 29, 2009," said Marina Brozovic, a radar scientist in Californiai.

The Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft is very small, a cube about 1.5 meters on each side - about the size of a Maruti 800.

It was found using inter-planetary radar which helps observe small asteroids several million miles from Earth.

Finding a derelict spacecraft that has not been tracked for years and is as far as the moon is tricky because the moon is riddled with mascons (regions with higher-than-average gravitational pull) that can dramatically affect a spacecraft's orbit over time, and even cause it to have crashed into the Moon.

Chandrayan-1 reported first evidence of the presence of water molecules on the moon's surface in 2009. ISRO had suggested that the spacecraft's orbit would slowly decay and it would ultimately crash onto the lunar surface. A scientist there told NDTV, "It is very heartening that India's first inter-planetary probe has survived the vagaries of space for nine long years."

Experts suggest the Chandrayaan-1 is now a derelict souvenir, which, though in orbit, cannot receive or send data to earth, which means it's space junk.

In 2014, India triumphed with its unmanned spacecraft reaching Mars at a cost of $74 million, a fraction of the $671 million spent by NASA on similar missions - and far cheaper than the budget of the Hollywood space blockbuster "Gravity".

India plans to send its second mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-2, early next year.

Re: So, what's up?

When I was new in this country, came with only 20 allowable bucks in my pocket at that time,….
Did 3 jobs daily,.. for early 2-3 yrs,…later, also loads of OT and worked almost every weekend,… for couple of years,…to bundle big bucks in short time,.. .
Later, mother expired untimely ( VK like story ) in hers early 50s,….. also paid tons of free money in Child’s daycare/baby-sittings,..

Realized,…. Smthg I am doing wrong,… later was lay-offed,.. remained jobless for on and off few months and realized that as a gainy situation of free 320 USD every week, ( not that bad ) rather than working like hell and still making so-so income at that time,.. Enjoyed that time as my golden days of life…

If you die 2-5 yrs earlier or later,…. Where to complain? Which court listens to that ? By doing OT, we are simply stretching the time,… what you can earn in 30 yrs of job, at the most you collect the same within 25 yrs….

But let say, if you died, at 60 instead of 85,… where would you complain?
Lost my best Maharstrian friend, was almost like my elder brother and we had talk for hours every week,…. is now no more, suddenly,… pancreatic cancer wrapped him within a week in ICU. http://www.pippinfuneralhome.com/notices/Vithal-Bhate

For any of yr loved ones, or old parents,..
One should visit while they can still feel ur presence. Everything else is just u getting out of ur own guilt of not making that time. Its a personal feeling watching relatives pour in when grandfather died. Barely have I met any when he was alive. Such is life, we all say we are busy until one day we have all the time but not the person. Enjoy yr family-life and don't drag much behind job / money,... they all are means and not the final destination.

I am not doing this for OT. Job requirement that I couldn't escape from.

OT money seems like overhead if your personal/family time suffers. That's why I said I'm glad it's over.

True. Working on weekends is not only because of IT.
I also have to do it sometimes. But not the current weekend.

Re: So, what's up?

Pals, we all are in the same boat,.. I have done it also a plenty. In everyone's life, an eye-opener turning point comes, only at a certain time,... when you we look back and find ours certain mistakes,..

I do not blame it totally,...

And, many a times it's a forced / highly expectable and a demanding requirement from the company, and also a necessity to maintain your job-post.

Company knows it well, if they hire more employees instead, then sick leave/vacation hours, 401, health insu and regular pay roll,..many such exceeds the price of that random and ( as needed, on basis ) 1.5X paying to the regular employee,...

Daily - 8 hrs regular work + 1 hrs wasted for lunch + 1.5 hrs to to and from from job + 8 hrs sound sleep + 1 hour of getting ready with bath/brushing/shaving/ clothing for the work + 2 hours cooking eating cleaning,..
One hardly has 1.5 hrs for TV / kids homework help / family callings

and now, if weekend is also gone at company, then,... laundry, grocery buying, car and house cleaning, lawn-moving, other repairing work,.. and other side-maintaing work suffers and you are being dragged in mechanical life,...

All of a sudden your peak youth time and whole life is gone and you never realize it, among paying all kind of taxes and bills and other necessary expenses..

You wake up one day,.. think about of yr life and net result comes,..
Khaaya, peeya kuchh bhi toh nahin,... gilaas toda baarah aana !

We all are in the same boat, still few smarts get themselves out of this some way,.... achieves financial freedom earlier,.. enjoy retirements and such,....... Woh hi kahelaate hai,... Muqqaddar ka Sikandaer / Baazigar ?

Organize your time.. Use commute time for family/india calling, lunch at desk, gym at work, avoid peak times for commute, takes me 20 minutes v/s 45 in heavy traffic.

I used to do that in my cyber coolie co in India. In Umrika however, many clients have Gym only for employees.
