Hello guys ...

Kashmir is 1 of the biggest issue ahead of our country..
This is the very complex and sensitive issue.

There is no doubt that kashmir is integral part of our country, but the problem is pakistan is saying same. And some kashmiris says it should be make independent. In the present situation there are several possibilities :

1. Whole Kashmir goes to India (I would like this to happen)

2. Half goes to india and half goes to Pak (Present ).

3. Full kashmir goes to Pak (This will never happen but still ..)

4. Our kashmir makes itself independent country.

5. Full kashmir evolves as a different country.

It seams that there is a deadlock at the moment , i don't think anything will happen after meetings because nobody will like to take back steps. e.g. Will india like to give some part to Pak , NO.... Same is with Pak. And same is with all militant groups.

So what's the solution ?? Please throw ur opinions ....

The predicament that is Kashmir only has one solution, LoC becomes the international border between India and Pakistan.
In 1999, Kashmir was in the back burner in the Indian and Pakistani mind. The low intensity war being waged in Kashmir was not receiving coverage in India, Pakistan, and most of the Arab world did not care as they had Israel to deal with. This was the back drop of the Nawaz-Atal Lahore meeting.
As is believed by most scholars, the likely outcome of the meeting would have been a formalized status quo. India would have given a part of the valley to Pakistan, in return the LoC would have become the border. Both nations and leaders would have been able to save face, and both would have walked away with the Nobel Peace Prize.

However, Nawaz did not count on three things. One, the larger than realized fundamentalist core of the Pakistani military.Second the marginalized sentiments of the Paki command. Third the ability of the mojahir Musharraf to rally the support of the largely Punjabi generals.

Peace with India would have meant that the Pakistani preception of threat would have diminished greatly. This would mean a smaller army with less influence in civilian matters. The Islamist elements in the army and civilian sector would have a hard time selling a theocracy if the "devil" were contained by a "pseudo-secular" regime. Effectively, the army wanted to maintain its choke hold on the Pakistani society so they launched Kargil.

Kargil failed terribly. The Pakistani high command, as in 1965, thought that India would not increase the size of the thearter and the US and China would pressure India into submission as there was a threat of nuclear war. However, once the tide of battle started turning and Indian ships were on the move to blockade ports, Indian planes began to bomb within PoK, artillery fire began to bombard deeper into the Paki lines, and Northern Light Infantry was cut off and killed by Indian planes, Pakistan began to realize that an Indian invasion of PoK was very possible. The international positioning of the situation by India was now showing Pakistan in a bad light. Nawaz went to the US, and ultimately saw the light of reality.

Now the Indian position has been hardened. Indians will not allow any part of Indian Kashmir to go to Pakistan. Pakistan now has an even bigger fundamentalist threat to itself than ever before.

If an election were held, Jammu and Ladakh would vote to remain with India. However, the valley is divided over independence and Pakistan. If the whole area were to vote ,Jammu-Kashmir, there is little doubt, due to the divisions in the valley, that Indian unionists would win.
If the valley were to vote seperately, of course a repatriation of Pundits would also occur prior to vote, the votes between the Pundits, the pro-Pakistanis, and the pro-independence movement, unionists would win out.

Kashmiris are also disillusioned by the Paki sale of a part of Kashmir to China. This made it harder to believe that they care about the Kashmiris. Kashmiris also see that "azad Kashmir" is anything but that, the rise of fundamentalism in Pakistan, and the absolute rule of the Mullah in Paki society.

Certainly the resolution of Kashmir would cause other problems within Pakistan, like the jihad coming home.
