Today I had Hot & Sour soup and Chicken Fried Rice. Capped it off with a capacino from Starbucks.

I work 5 blocks from Chinatown in DC so I eat Asian food all the time for lunch.

Not really....the guy did not specify gavar as the cause for his dinner not being good...a few months ago I recall DB pai was longing for gavar and so was cha pai around the same time

No offense meant to gavar fans....its just that once my turd was dangling by a gavar thread (only animals can digest that fiber) from my rear and neither gavar nor the turd would fall off despite me shaking my assz

When I was an undergrad in a certain part of Gujarat, I used to dine as a paying guest at a "mausi's" (no, not a madam)...she never cooked gavar...one gavar fan asked her why and she told that gavar was cattlefeed...and that idea stuck...I actually laughed my ass off thinking of the mausi having the turd dangling problem

A garlic Bagel and Veggei Cream Cheese for breakfast. Went out for lunch. Bought a "Healthy" salad from TOGO's Sandwiches. Washed it down with Sierra Mist. Then we guys went to wal-mart to buy some halloween stuff for office. There I bought a Hershey with Almond bar for 88 cents. MUcnhing on Gum now.

Tonite we are going to Dave and Busters for happy hour. Will probably have just one beer. Feeling a little bit down today.

No dude... Gavar might have been hard to get or expensive and hence your mausi told you it was cattlefeed.

The trick to making gavar really good is to througoughly wash it in running water. Then cutting off the ends just a bit and then making two or three pieces for cooking. Also Gavar should be fresh else stale gavar turns intoa yucky vegetable when cooked. Unlike many other beans, gavar takes longer to cook and needs a little bit extra oil compared to other beans for cooking.

dhuru try gavar which is properly cooked and you will not have any dangling turd problems. In fact the green gavar beans will act as lubrication for your system just like spinach. The added roughage will ensure that your feces comes out in proper shape and with ease. You will have a satisfying round of sandaas on the commode.

Nope...after a few days, I was passing by a potter's place in the same town, I saw potter feed gavar (in bulk) to his donkeys.

and true enough...even the document below mentions Gawar as cattle feed in North Gujarat...Tharad is a town in Banaskantha district

Hmm... Dhurru pai... we are poor people.. we eat whatever we can afford! Yesterday, we had to eat hay.. coz my family couldn't afford buying actual vegetables! We are eternally thankful to God that we could afford to buy Gavar the other day.. otherwise I was heading to a stable nearby to steal some of cattle feed..

Adding to it, I remember cutting just a bit at each end and pulling out the green "strand" from side first. I remember Gawar & Potato combination sabzee being delicious.

Dhur pai, I hope you are not that person in our colony who got embarassed in front of all ladies.

There was this "Uncle" in our colony. One Sunday morning when the Vegetable vendor pulled his "haathgaadi" of vegs and yelled out "tamate, batate, kaande, lasoon, gawar, bhopla", quite a few ladies came out to buy vegs. This guy also came to the vegetable vendor, even though he did not have a bag / utensil in his hand. He asked the vendor, "kyon be, Gawar kitne mein diye ?". Vendor replied "Che rupaiye kilo saab". Guy wanted to show off. Said "Abe, hamaare yahaan gawaar gadhon ko khilaate hai, tu Che rupaiye maang rahaa hai!!!". Vendor replied and all the ladies were smiling among themselves while the guy walked away red-faced. "Saabji, aap bhi wahi shaamil ho jaayiye, mufat mein gawaar milenge."
