quoting from the article you referenced..
Quote:
Adani Electricity’s said the revised tariff applicable from September has been increased to Rs 4.78 a unit from Rs 4.42 a unit for the first 0-100 units consumed, and to Rs 8.58/ unit from Rs 8.04/unit for the next 101-300 units. The rates for the slabs 301-500 units were increased by 30 paise, while that for over 500 units were increased only marginally.

“The tariff increase has no correlation with Adani taking over Mumbai distribution business. It is only a coincidence that the timing of tariff revision coincided with the takeover,” the company said. Reliance Infrastructure had filed for tariff petition to MERC in December 2017 and while the public hearing for this happened on August 2 this year, the actual order for revision came on September 12, after Adani took over RInfra's Mumbai electricity business on August 28.
this doesn't sound like a sharp jump... if I use 500 units.. my bill will go up 4% .. so about 250 bucks more than before. Using up more units, one can easily check the reading on the meter to determine where the fault lies, whether units reported are wrong, or it's an accounting mistake.. anybody who is metric pass can figure out easily..

No wonder we need some gujjus commuting to Mumbai from Gujarat in bulltet trains on a daily basis..

what to do if GDP growth is not good in your administration ? recalculate and reduce economic growth achieved during previous administration

Re: Achche Din

The only link i have with Cable TV now is when i visit gym. A couple of days back, after a long while i tuned into Bloomberg.
The reporters based in HK mostly talked about Trump Xi talks, but also talked about Indian economy being in a strong state now and thequite big on green energy now.
They also got some Chinese lady who claimed that she had run a machine learning on US data and that told her US was heading for a recession in 2 more months. The Bloomberg anchors were not believing her though.

PM inaugurates huge bridge across the extremely wide brahmaputra river in assam . it will help in rapidly moving troops and defence equipment to arunachal pradesh , something that was being impeded by the mighty river . will help in countering up to some extent the massive defence infrastructure development by china in tibet . bridge has two levels---on one level there is railway and on other there is road .

Re: Achche Din

^^
Looks like this project was initiated in 1985 as a part of Assam accord. The foundation was laid by HDD in 1997. 20 years later, it finally sees the light of the day.
A recent news item
Former prime minister HD Deve Gowda has said he was disappointed as he was not invited for the inauguration of Bogibeel Bridge, the country’s longest railroad bridge, in Assam though he had laid the foundation stone for the multi-crore project.

The 4.9-km long bridge at Bogibeel across the Brahmaputra, built at a cost of Rs 5,900 crore, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday.

The Bogibeel Bridge, which also facilitates the movement of troops in a strategically sensitive region, was part of the Assam Accord of 1985 and was finally sanctioned in the year 1997-98. The foundation stone of the project was laid by Janata Dal(Secular) chief Gowda when he was the prime minister on January 22, 1997.

“The railway line to Kashmir, Delhi Metro and Bogibeel railroad bridge were among the projects I had sanctioned (as prime minister). I had sanctioned the budget of Rs 100 crore for each of these projects and laid their foundation stones. People have forgotten today,” Gowda said.

Acchhe din for domestic workers to come as their right to form unions will be accepted . But headache for people like myself who are keeping domestic workers now they will form unions which will make them difficult to remove even if they disobey and will allow them to unite and demand more pay .
