I was being sarcastic there.. I definitely support Republic day parade. And President, Prime Minister should be able to showcase India's riches appropriately to foreign dignitaries.

I think Armed forces should do even more to showcase their hard word and skills. I like few things of this sort I see here in America.. veterans day, employment preference for those who've served in military, etc.

If AAp comes into power, they wont even need 2 bedroom houses or any office. They will live and work out of Ramlila Maidan or Raj path.

You know Vice President Hamid Ansari is following the protocol while Modi and Parikar are not. Saluting is reserved for chief dignitary (in this case President) and personnel of armed forces.

For the first time in 8 yrs. he's found a mention in press, although for wrong reasons. Saluting the flag is required by every top official.

Actually you are totally wrong. Only the highest official or President along with armed personnel have the honor of salute. All others must stand in attention. Here is the clarification. If anybody was wrong here, it is Modi and Parikar. See the photo below of Vajpayee at republic day. President Kalam is saluting while Vajpayee is not.

BTW you do not see Vice President in news because the position is supposed to be a low profile one. Those creating ruckus over it is doing wrong.

Desa Pai, how can you contradict Sudarshan news.
ABV was wrong, Modi is right.

Anyways, remember that in our school, we used to salute at the end of the ANthem saying "Jai Hind'

Sorry, galti se mishtake ho gaya. I didn't know that I am contradicting Sudarshan news (whatever that is - not news really but BS), kasam se.

BTW I don't really remember anybody apart from chief guest (in my school that used to be consul general of India) saluting during republic day. Even Sudarshan news accepts that VP was following the protocol but it is not to their liking. So, yeah attack the guy for following the protocol . I never heard any attack before for any other PMs who did the same.

Re: Happy Republic Day - 2015

If VP office has issued a clarification , it has to be on behalf of Indian Govt. That firstpost link posted by Desa clearly mentions that.

I think the only difference with English channels is that English language is treated as high class in India. But the truth remains that Hindi/other vernacular channels do a lot of business and have much more reach. Lots of shilajit and other male power ads on Sudarshan.

Also saw an advertorial in Sudarshan for something which grows you from 5’5” to 6’4”
