He could follow the illustrious examples of HDDG, MMS and now Sharad Pawar, and contest Rajya Sabha.

Re: Defections to AAP

dunno but as a neutral observer I see the following.

AAP and NOTA seem to be most popular around. Ask anyone and AAP and baring that NOTA is the next choice for them.. Many expressed that they will vote for the first time as before they "did not 'even' have NOTA" to express their opinion.. and just voting for one because they do not like the other available alternatives was akin to saying.. "theek hai haathi se nahi maraani to kutte se marwaa lo.. par marwaani to padegi" sorts. Lets see is election mein kuch different takes hoinga lets see how it all pans out.

Medha Patkar said it is time for new wave in Indian politics.

Summary

Patkar announced her decision saying it was time for new wave in Indian politics.

Social activist Medha Patkar on Monday announced that she will extend full support to Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, saying that it is time for new wave in Indian politics.
Addressing the media in Mumbai, Patkar said, “We need to fight the corrupt politicians. We will provide full support to AAP.”
On being asked about if she would join AAP, Patkar on Monday had said her decision would depend on AAP’s responses to some clarifications she would seek from it. Patkar had also held a meeting with the constituent organisations of the National Alliance of People’s Movement but refused to divulge details.

Re: Defections to AAP

Yes she was.

But do not misrepresent her objections. She was fighting for the rights of folks whos land will be submerged in the process and were given pennies to a dollar by the govt in exchange for that (forcibly)..

And another point to note that indiscriminate building of DAMS have been scientifically proven (go lookup yourself google will help) to be detrimental to enviroment and weather. You don't screw around with Mother Nature and not expect her to retailiate.. She will tolerate your shenanigans for a while being a mother but when she gets irked, she gives back rather ferociously and there is no stopping her (atleast yet).

Re: Defections to AAP

Vaise don't misunderstand me..I ain't MP's fan or anything. I just pointed out clarification to her stand and my position on DAMs... I have never understood this "social worker" concept at all.. saala khud ka itna problem rakh kar duniyaa ko diaper pahnaane nikal padte hain.. eggsamples are many.. apne EC mein hi dekh lo.. vo kobra gade ek baar hagi ki uski dhone ek idhar bhi tapak gayela hai among the many who are there already.. thread pad lo samajh aa jaayega..

Re: Defections to AAP

The government should concentrate more on building infrastructure than doling freebies to win votes.

Yes, and FYI she is sickular.. she will defend anything remotely Congressi. She even defended Jayanti Natarajan of 'Jayanti Tax' fame, when her successor Veerappa Moily has cleared the backlog of 65 projects in just 2 weeks.

So, when are Arundhati Roy, Karats, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, etc joining AAP

I find only A Roy as the closest candidate.
Karats - This AAP thing has actually made me appreciate the commies. Even they do not promote so much of anarchy and they openly claim to be commies. Actually Buddadeb Bhattacharya was more growth oriented than this guy. I actually see Mamata Didi supporting these guys

Javed Akhtar - Not sure if we would be too different from his ex writing partner Salim Khan, who praised Modi sometime back. Well, Shabana Azmi, though a likely candidate probably not be too different from her Shauhar.
