Are regurgitated old films worth watching?

You have himmatwala and now Karz. You had sholay, shitolay and so many other movies repeated. If I want to watch the old movie, I will watch the old movie. Why the fuck will I pay money to watch the old movie with crappy new stars? I don't know...I wont be watching any of these movies.

Re: Are regurgitated old films worth watching?

new movies are not scene by scene copies of old movies - besides these are technological superior.

most remakes are bad. they r remade bcoz the original was good in some way. so the remake should be better in some way. but they disappoint.
however, a jurassic park 3d may be looked up to. or a colorful mughle azam. even otherwise, a remake may be watcheable if made properly with new starcast/technology/value-add etc.
PS: haven't watched any remakes yet.

Re: Are regurgitated old films worth watching?

Even though remakes in general suck, there are many remakes that are worth watching... sometimes better than the old ones, usually because of better tech and all. The following is my list where I enjoyed the remake more than the original,

1. The new Batman series (all three made till now)
2. Don
3. RGV's Aag
4. Angoor

Yeah, the old one had Kishore Kumar and Agha or Bhagwan or somebody as his sidekick. Funny too but not as good as the new one with Sanjeev Kumar and Devan Verma.

You enjoyed Aag more than you enjoyed Sholay?
I am not saying you should not - just surprised.
