Re: Delhi gang-rape case

RIP.. In a way it would have been a very difficult life of misery after she would have recovered fully.. the physical trauma and then the psychological trauma.. one can't imagine it.

I wonder now about all the stories of India's greatness we studied in school are all fake or may be just little flickers of light in the vast darkness.

They were naked, not one from crowd helped, cops got sheets

Shalini Narayan : New Delhi, Thu Dec 20 2012, 02:09 hrs

Stripped and thrown out of the bus after the gangrape and assault on Sunday night, the 23-year-old woman and her friend lay by the roadside in Mahipalpur.

Not one from the crowd that had gathered there — police said there were at least 50 people there when they reached the spot — came to their help. No one even bothered to cover them. Cars pulled up, people rolled down windows but the woman and her friend lay there naked till policemen arrived, got two sheets from a nearby hotel, covered and carried them to hospital.

Police sources said a PCR team reached the Mahipalpur spot within six minutes of the alert.

“Mahipalpur flyover Gurgaon ki taraf se utarti GMR ki gate ke saamne ek ladka aur ladki bina kapde pehne baithe hai. Public ki bheed ikhatta hai (a boy and girl are naked outside the GMR gate at the Mahipalpur flyover on the Gurgaon route, there is a crowd there).” This was the first call to the police control room at 10.24 pm on Sunday.

In his statement to police, the woman’s friend said he had “tried to draw the attention of passersby and vehicles on the road when a police vehicle arrived”.

Police sources said the girl appeared unconscious and was bleeding profusely. Her friend too was bleeding but he was conscious. There were three calls to the police control room, including one by a manager of DS Construction that operates the expressway and an employee of a Mahipalpur hotel.

“Our men reached the spot and borrowed two white sheets from a hotel nearby. The onlookers were just standing there, doing nothing. They were pointing at the victims. Not one of them took off a jacket or a piece of clothing to cover the victims. There were women in cars that had pulled over but they did not approach the victims,” a police officer said.

I think the police should come under direct orders from the CM office rather than from the Lt Governor.

There is also a need for better trained police officers with a big danda up their ass from the higher ups .

The big question is : Can this happen?

Re: Delhi gang-rape case

Not only the police, the whole government system is rotten. The netas care a shit for the public welfare and are in politics only for personal gain (money + muscle). Being netas gets them muscle power officially, in uniform; and damn the public. This tendency passes on to the lower officials, naturally. So, the raison d'etre of a government employee is only to keep his higher ups happy.

Quote:
Private chartered bus in which the 23-year-old girl was gangraped ran rogue without permit on Delhi roads

If only the Delhi government's transport department had been alert to its responsibility the bus would not have been on the road that fateful day.

Although Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (traffic) said, "At the time of offence bus had no legal permit to run on city roads, had no fitness certificate for the vehicle as well," in an embarrassing cover-up Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced that the government has cancelled the 'permit' of the bus. The CM was apparently not aware that the vehicle's permit had expired long ago. What is even more scary, the same illegal vehicle was used to transport children of two prestigious South Delhi schools.

In a telling example of the sorry state of affairs in the city, even though the police had impounded the same vehicle - DL1PC-0149 - six times in 2011 and 2012, the owner of the bus, Dinesh Yadav, managed to get it back from the court by paying penalty. Two drivers of the bus were also prosecuted in separate incidents for driving the vehicle without driving licence.

According to Delhi traffic police, the last time this vehicle was impounded was in July this year when Ram Singh, the main accused in the gangrape case, was driving it without any permit and fitness certificate. However, it was released by the court after Dinesh Yadav paid a fine of Rs.2200.

Earlier it was impounded twice at Kalyanpuri, twice in Sarita Vihar, once in Lajpat Nagar and once in Kalkaji. The bus was challaned two times when its drivers Sarvesh (February 2012) and Sonu (2011) had no valid driving licence.

Dinesh Yadav was allegedly running the bus illegally on DTC routes and had registered the vehicles on fake addresses as well. Earlier, he operated these as blue line buses but after the government phased them out, Dinesh registered them as chartered vehicles and started operating them on DTC routes between Delhi and Noida.

Interestingly, in one instance when this bus was found flouting the rules the traffic police suspended its permit for 25 days.

However, Dinesh went to the state transport tribunal which heard the case and reduced the penalty to just eight days.

.............. more here..

becoz either she was already dead or about to die .. govt thought its better that they show she died abroad or else law and order could go out of hand.

Re: Delhi gang-rape case

Not completely convinced that she died before reaching Singapore. I am confident that Singapore immigration authorities will not provide entry to a body to be brought in as "live'. Also am confident that the hospital in Singapore would not be a party in professional misconduct to rescue "Indian ministers in soup". Meneka Gandhi is just taking advantage of the situation. Yes, I do agree that Govt of India quickly moved the patient to Singapore, not for providing a better medical facility, but as a face saving measure for they were sure that the patient won't pull through very much longer.
