Re: Hardik Patel: Rise of the quota warrior

A recent incident which I heard via my relative in Punjab.

In high school final exams being held earlier this year, one of the classrooms that this senior teacher, a Brahmin, was invigilating had mostly Dalit students.

These students were all BPL (below poverty line) even though some are children of other teachers in the school. Now for general class the BPL is at a different level but Dailt teachers even though earning quite well in State Board school are considered BPL in our screwed up system.

Anyway, so he wouldn't let the kids cheat, so some scored badly and a few flunked. Now this enraged the teachers and they created a scene in the teacher's room after a few weeks, alleging that he has made casteist statements and they held a dharna against him.

Poor chap got suspended, he would have been promoted to Principal in a year or two. Now it will be a miracle if he retires without problems.

Re: Hardik Patel: Rise of the quota warrior

^^ Bitter PC reality. Had he becone a principal, he would have faced even more such problems.
