'No more Arjun Singh', angry students want to meet the Prime Minister

New Delhi, May 15: Striking medical students on Monday rejected HRD Minister Arjun Singh's invitation for talks on reservation, saying they have lost "faith" in him and now want to meet the Prime Minister to resolve the issue.

"He (Singh) had assured us that he would hold talks with us before referring the Bill on reservation to the Union Cabinet. But he did not do that and we now have no faith in him," said Safal, a representative of the youth for equality.

The students, who began an indefinite hunger strike on Sunday, said they want to talk only to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue, which has brought them on a collision course with the government. Their strident posture comes in the wake of Singh's statement that he was ready to hold talks with the students protesting against the proposed reservations for OBCs in elite educational institutions, if they are willing to come forward for discussions.

The Human Resources Minister had earlier told the students that he personally had no problems discussing the issue with them before the Bill was taken up by Parliament, but he would consult the Prime Minister before holding any such meeting with them.

I am happy that students are now protesting and giving the heat to the eunuch politicians! This is sickening that our government wants to mess with careers of students!! Fuck this Babasaheb Ambedkar who introduced reservations!

If nothing changes, then I am happy to support China who deserves to be the next big superpower economy and who can crush Indian economy!! We deserve this ass rape for we elect the bastaards who are in power now. Had we elected only BJP and shown Hindu pride things would be different. But BJP is also full of idiots and appeasement specialist bastaards. Only RSS or VHP can stem this nonsense.

These shameless politicians can sell their mothers for votes!!
Expecting something rational from them is useless.
And to top it all,pro-reservationists start shouting on top of their voices...

Today's Hindustan Times , Delhi edition had Arjun Singh dozing off during some seminar .Bloody what a waste of a politician ?

All he is worried about is how to unseat Manmohan . This khoosat does not even have one constituency from which he can safely get elected .

Arjun Singh ..you are a disgrace to MP

These are the images of how Indian govt. treats its civilians holding peaceful protest!

Just so that no foreigner thinks, these may be images coming from Belarus (Lukashenka) or Zambia (under Mugabe et al). This is the state of democracy that is Inida.

Re: Quota Protests: 'No more Arjun Singh', angry students want to meet the Prime Minister

Not taking any side I would like to bring some insight here.

A few months back certain collges in the United States objected to military recruiters coming to campuses and solicitating students. The White House objected saying that it is a law and the case went to the supreme court. The courts sided with the government and said that if the universities/colleges accept government funds and grants then they have to let the government in on the premises. So if we take the same notion here, doesnt the government or whoever is making these fuked rules say that since these colleges take money from us, we have a right to demand certian seats as we deem fit. Just my thoughts here, dont go around crucifying me on this.

Re: Quota Protests: 'No more Arjun Singh', angry students want to meet the Prime Mini

I saw on tv, one of the freaking top cop (comissioner or like that) was saying...."there was no laathi-charge at all, some students got hurt because we had to drag them to arrest and in resistance they got hurt"...what a moron. All tv channels were showing "beating" with laathi.

I think somebody need to explain this motherfucker what is laathi-charge.

Even lateron R.R.Patil said that there was laathicharge.
