Despite winning against terrorists Indian Army is losing battle in the home. A BSF Jawan had to post it to facebook for his food itself is a testimony to the fact that no one would have heeded him in BSF. The logistics branch that generally buys food is corrupt in all branches. That is why I wrote in another post that Tej Bahadur Yadav has improved food of everyone, now everyone is scared of what Jawan can do and it is more thanks to Mr Zukerberg than our system.
Coming to Sahayak system in the army, it is most racist system devised by the British in British Indian Army. A white officer had many buddies to assist, though British moved out 70 years ago, this system remained owing to availability of human resource in Indian Army. Though young officers mostly who became officers post 2000 have almost stopped employing sahayaks the oldies are still using them and many Jawans are happy to be sahayaks as this helps in recruiting their kins in Army. There is daily recruitment in Army and I am not sure if it is as fully impartial as recruitment of Airman/Sailor in IAF/IN.
In this case of suicide, Jawan was expecting the worst form of punishment, may be transfer to Tripura or Leh and probably sacking for speaking to people outside army without permission. How did camera got in there? How did that reporter got into cantonment? with whose permission? And initially army said that they will investigate into Jawan's grievances but later changed the narrative to photography in prohibited area as sensitive as Deolali Cantonment.
Sahayak system should be abolished, it is related to honor of hard working Jawan and his honor is at stake not in the battlefield but inside his own cantonment.
And if an ex-Air Chief is held in corruption charge then you people can see how far corruption has gone into Armed Forces. Speak out against Armed forces if you find it wrong, civilians are no less patriotic than armed forces
