Seat belts

VIPs think they are above the law and do not follow the rules.
But when some of the rules are meant for our own safety, not following them hurts.

Latest in this one is Harikrishna. Elder brother of Stunt king Balakrishna. But in real life, machines come as stronger.

Hyderabad, Aug 29 TDP founder NTR's son and actor-politician Nandamuri Harikrishna died in a road accident in Telangana's Nalgonda district early on Wednesday. He was 61.

Harikrishna, a former Rajya Sabha member and a former Andhra Pradesh Minister, sustained critical head injuries when the car which he was driving overturned near Anneparthi.

The vehicle was flung in the air after hitting a divider and crashed into another vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

Harikrishna, who was not wearing the seat belt, was thrown out of the vehicle and sustained head injuries. He was shifted to Kamineni Hospital at Narketpally, where he succumbed.

Much of the MSM does not mention the seatbelt part. But being thrown out of the vehcle is suresign of seatbelt missing.

I know 2 more persons dying because of seatbelt missing.
1. Gopinath Munde.
2. Jaspal Bhatti- Now, his death put to bed 2 common beliefs.
a. Sitting in the rear seat, seatbelt is not needed. The occupants in the car who were wearing seat belt on the front seats escaped death.
b. Pagris protect your head from injuries- One Sardarji was telling that Pagris are better than helmets.

Re: Seat belts

It's simple, some people get it some don't.

If out of millions of people traveling in cars, 1 life can be saved, we all will be like who cares, it's not me or my family. It won't happen to us.. just like we will not get cancer, 2 cigs a day don't kill nobody.

His son also died of the same cause. Yet he didnt learn. Looks like he participated in some road safety campaigns

One gult channel was reeling out other Gult VIPs who dies because they didnt wear a seat belt.

Janaki Ram (son of Harikrishna)
Yerram Naidu (Chief of Telugu Desam in Lok Sabha)
Shobha Nagireddy (MLA in AP)

That actually sounds true. Though it would need some control to smoke only 2 cigarettes a day.

Example
Mr. Owens, a pack-a-day cigarette smoker for 35 years, had been hospitalized on and off since last Dec. 12. Doctors said the cancer was inoperable, and since January he had received radiation and chemotherapy treatment at hospitals in Phoenix and Tucson.

He re-entered the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson a week ago. He lapsed into a coma Saturday night and died at 3:40 A.M., Tucson time, yesterday without having regained consciousness. His wife, Ruth, and other family members were at his bedside.

Some people take it as an insult to their manhood when they have to wear seat belts.

Many times I have travelled by Ola cabs in Mumbai sitting on the front seat. Many cabs would just roll up the seat belt. I would insist on wearing them. The cab drivers would look as if I came from another planet!

Problem is smoking will increase blood pressure and loss of stamina, 2 cigs regularly enough to cause damage. Also, I feel it depends on lifestyle, genetics, health in general.

Re: Seat belts

This reminds me.. may be 15 yrs back in Delhi, got off a flight and into a cab (ambassador) .. sat next to driver as my parents were sitting in the back seat.

Quote:
Cab driver to me - bhaiya, seat belt laga lo, nahi to challan lag jayega

Me - kahan hai seat belt

Cab Driver - woh to rahi (pointing to a wide black ribbon hanging near my left shoulder).. usko pakad ke apni baayi jaangh (right thigh) ke neeche daba lo.. jaise maine kiya hai
I was like wtf .. what's the point of this, just for show off. Might as well wear a shirt with a black stripe across it.
