In all likeliness that would have spawned a counter question from him asking what an airbag was. We didn't have side mirrors in most cars back then, forget about seat belts and airbags.

None of these had seatbelts. Only after new cars came in, that desis knew what a seatbelt is.

I think back in early 80's we didnt have too many cars roaming around the cities. Its just a handful. As the time went by, we had the need to.

Yes, we had a fiat in 80s.. there were no side mirrors and no seat belts, can't recall if there was a rear view mirror.
