Who the fuck loves CapsiCum

I hate it ... absolutely ... I realized ...

In no way can anyone relieve CapsiCum out of its own misery ... they say Nature is perfect ... God makes everything perfect ... I think probably He forgot this has to be made edible too ...

So for how many days straight are you forced to eat it?...or is it retaliation by Mrs.Landya for you not taking up the west coast job?

Re: Who the fuck loves CapsiCum

I kinda agree with Landya .. capsicum (green bell pepper) has a very strange taste. It is good as a flavoring for other things (pav bhaji, chicken curry etc) but tastes nasty as a sabji by itself and tastes horrible raw.

The red and yellow bell peppers are much better raw. Also go well in mild or sweet chinese dishes. Green bell pepper is a good flavoring for spicy/fiery Chinese dishes.

So - to sum it up - capsicum is a good flavoring agent, like a spice. Not very good on its own. IMHO, of course.

Re: Who the fuck loves CapsiCum

Try barbequing capsicum... or even fire-roasting it or as a topping on your pizza. I think capsicum should be given the queen title versus the king for the potato

Very astute observation, Saaaar..

The king gets stuffed inside the queen .. The queen has no substance without the queen - only flavour, nothing else....... wow..

Re: Who the fuck loves CapsiCum

one of my friends used to make a killer gravy dish out of capsicum.. that is the only time i've liked it.. as a stand alone sabzi - i agree with melly and landya - i don't care for it.. but it does bring good flavor to a dish if done right..

Dhurs, I screwed up big time ... I told wifey, it is an awesome sabji yesterday (and it was not, it was bland with aloo, onions, some masalas, and it was little burnt as well, the flavor/aroma was a burning flavor) ... I hated it ... So I decided in my mind, that I will not say that I hate it ... On the contrary, I will say, "I love the sabji, it is well prepared" and guess what ...

She was surprised, she said, "Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllly" and I got caught ... I said, well it is OK ... and she said "RealllllY", I said well it is somewhat bland, may be we need to put some other spices as well ... She said "and?" ... You know you get that feeling like you are cornered... I wish that corner had a door or if I could just hide myself in the corner ...

Well, I said, it is somewhat "burnt" ... So she said "so what about the love-it-part?" ... And I had to admit, "I love to hate it"

Re: Who the fuck loves CapsiCum

I dont mind capsicums.... esp yellow and red ones are tastier... In India I've had stuffed capsicum and dint like it much.... someone I knew used to cook chopped capsicum with little besan and mustard... it's a quick and delicious preparation... guess it was a gujju dish.
