Re: Organic milk vs Regular milk

We tried and its getting too expensive to get everything organic. So instead we are focusing on getting things like honey, eggs, meat etc from a local farm and things like milk are store bought. And veggies from local farmers market during the season. This year I plan to grow from a raised bed garden...lets see how that goes.

How much does milk cost there anyway? Regular full fat milk? Its around $4.50 per 4 litres here.

Milk is sold by the gallon here. Most places sell regular milk for $2.5 per gallon (3.8 litres). Full fat, 2%, 1% cost is the same. Organic is at around $6-7 a gallon.

I buy from farmers market too, I buy cage free eggs.. don't cook meat at home, only eat out.

Organic milk, can stay lot longer ( unlike regular milk or a gallon bottle in summer ) and it has added Vanilla, Choco, Almond flavor many a times, with sweetened and unsweetened,... so drinking cold/hot is equally tasty and good and quality, under the Food standard acceptance. So, why worry ?

The company Silk and Blue Almond Diamond major makes this milk here in the US and via their toll free number, they gives you 1.00 USD coupon for every 0.5 gallon carton, so when it’s on sale,. You get the same milk,… almost at the same price like regular,.. So I buy it very often any and do not think much,…..

Lesser the think is better,… Let say,… they also feed cow the meat dough, left-over of suvvar, chicken, pigs,.. and hotdog’s remainder crap… which they mix in grass-pooda and makes a healthy dough for a cow, mixed with all residue meat so that,. A cow can give more milk,… now,..Where you gonna cry a as a vegetarian,.. ?

Even the nariyeli ka juice ( thx to Pappu for this word ) , the coconut trees standing on bank of any lagoon-pond has many dead fishes at its root and the coconut-water was found rich in Nitrogen which the tree had sucked major from those dead fishes,… where you gonna complain and cry for those non-vegetarian Nariyeli ka juice ?

What happened to this guy. I had so much organic fun with him. He is talking about almond milk here which is not milk but anyways

I buy Organic boz I can afford it this year. But don;t you hate people who use word organic in all conversation ?

We have grown Organically this year.
This is an Organic extension of our product.
We need to look at this problem Organically

Re: Organic milk vs Regular milk

Largest Organic Milk Producer in the U.S. Isn’t Actually Organic at All

The country’s largest organic milk producer has allegedly been operating illegally, according to an exposé that appeared in the Washington Post Monday. Aurora Organic Dairy, which supplies store-brand organic milk to such retailers as Walmart, Costco, and Target, was accused in the exposé of failing to graze its cattle according to USDA organic standards.

A formal legal complaint was filed Tuesday against the dairy and its organic certifier, the Colorado Department of Agriculture, by organic watchdog group The Cornucopia Institute.

“The rigorous investigative work by Peter Whoriskey at The Washington Post clearly illustrates a pattern of long-term corruption by both Aurora Dairy and the USDA’s National Organic Program,” Mark Kastel, Cornucopia’s co-director, said in a press release. “Our organic regulators have turned a blind eye as giant industrial operations place ethical family-scale dairy farmers at a distinct competitive disadvantage.”

According to the Washington Post, the High Plains operation in Colorado, which is run by Aurora Organic Dairy, has been keeping almost all of its 15,000 cows in dirt- and manure-covered pens instead of in pasture, as organic regulations require. Reporters visited the farm several times across eight days last year, and each time they never found more than ten percent of the herd grazing. This was confirmed by a high-resolution satellite photo taken in mid-July by DigitalGlobe, the Post reports.
