Scotch Drinkers

I just picked up a new hobby - Scotch. I was laways a black label drinker . Tried green gold and blue. But recently got hooked to single malt .

Have tried and tasted this scotch a few times now. Nice smoky flavor.

Do NOT ADD CLUB SODA drink on the rocks.

Initially feels a little strong but then you really enjoy sipping this .

Re: Scotch Drinkers

Mota bhai, I used to have only single malt scotch.

Laphroaig was one of my preferred whiskeys. Next please try McAllans, then Glen Morange and if you are in a spending kind of mood, get Oban.

That should keep you busy

Re: Scotch Drinkers

And you should never fuck a good scotch by adding club soda or like some assholes who add soda (Pepsi or Coke). That is murder!!

At most one ice cube is all I used to add, and in most cases, just enjoyed it neat ... small sips, twirl on the tongue and then let it glide smoothly ... aaa haa .. aaah..

Fuck, now I am totally dry for more than a year!!

Re: Scotch Drinkers

If you can get it try one called 'The Dew of Ben Nevis'. My opinion, Ben Nevis is 100 times better than Laphroaig. Perhaps the diff between Islay and fort william.

Charchu, McAllens (personal opinion - in case of scotch its down to personal taste, isnt it?) I think is like red label in India. I would rather have red rum ;-)

I like glenfiddich more than glenmorangie - difference in price but not much in taste ;-)

Could never develop a taste for it(doesnt work for me without diluting)... an expensive habit also. I have almost stopped drinking dark liquor(escept red wine), it is vodka or white rum for me now.
It's been months since I've had anything.

Re: Scotch Drinkers

Some of my favs

Cragganmore: Chit pai - u should check out the 12 year old, it's a greatly approachable single malt

Balvenie - often described as the most honeyish of malts

if you like Islay malts like Laprohaig - check out the cousins Lagavulin, Ardbeg or Bowmore but these are probably not for beginners and probably not for everyone

i think the McAllan's are aged in old oak casks that were used to hold sherry wine.. hence i've heard that it adds a bit of the sherry wine taste to the scotch.. personally i don't care eitherways..

i've been drinking scotch with club mostly soda or sometimes with water..always with ice..mostly black label or chivas regal..blue label and green label are so overrated and overpriced. i never found big difference from black label in taste...but lately i have started enjoying cocktails..
