Re: Achche Din
^^
You can be a Hindu Nationalist and a non sanskari too. And a secular and sanskari too. There was a sandkari Congress minister in Maharashtra Krupa Shankar Singh wanted Bars and Liquor shops not to have Devi Devta names like Maruti wines. Coming to this, as long as these rules do not affect ‘beach shacks’, it should be fine (it will be literally ‘fine’ anyway). Between 1990 Eduardo Falerio’s Goa and 3004, Parrikar’s Goa, that is the difference I found. In 1990, kids used to sell beer on the beach, but in 2004, there were more organized beach shacks. BTW, in all the western beaches, I have been to, you cannot be drinking too close to water.

In January 2019, GST collections has crossed 1 lakh crore rupees. * GST has been continuously reduced, resulting in relief of 80,000 crore rupees to consumers; most items of daily use for poor and middle class are now in the 0%-5% tax bracket. * GST is the undoubtedly the biggest taxation reform implemented since Independence; through tax consolidation, India became one common market; inter-state movements became faster through e-way bills, improving Ease of Doing Business. * Within almost two years, almost all assessment and verification of IT returns will be done electronically by an anonymized tax system without any intervention by tax officials.

How does it fare for you. A. Will you pay less taxes? B. Will the movie tickets be costlier or cheaper?

Re: Achche Din
nothing surprising. If all these Garibi hatao schemes worked, there would actually be no garibi. And then who would vote Congress?

Re: Achche Din
Modi is just setting up an India to be raided by companies like Walmart. Most small businesses are dying in cash crunch. All the traders that I talk to are unhappy with tight cash situation. But most of them are ready to overlook it in the hope that Modi will deliver on Hindutva which he will never do because he is hoping for a Nobel Prize
![]() OTOH both Gandhi siblings are worth lower than kabada. No hope for working class in India.

Probably someone who has visited Mumbai recently like Dirty or Sutradharji can elborate on actual changes. Docji and Bhidu seem to be in Mumbai, but when you are within the city, you dont realise the changes. But better half went to mumbai and liked it more than Delhi this time. More in the Delhi thread.
