Cuba anyone?

We are planning for a short vacation (3-4 days in Jan) to Cuba. Neither my husband nor I have ever been there. Any suggestions what we could do in Cuba (Havana)? Anyone here been there before?

I don't smoke Sarv and my husband doesn't like cigars too. So, what else people do in Cuba? (other than swim?)

Re: Cuba anyone?

The closest I came to cuba is to Key West. People say on clear day you can see cuba from Key west, but I have my own doubt about it. So If you go to Cube let me know if you can see keywest from there

When you go to Cuba, remember to not say anything critical about Communists and Fidel Castro. Just smile and smile at the locals.

Enjoy tropical fruits and cuban food.

Also if you are fan, drool over those big nice old cars.

Re: Cuba anyone?

Tropical food n drinks , snorkling( watch for the jelly-fish ) and shopping(Havana) is all you can do in Cuba.

Dont forget to collect the tourist card ( cuban visa ) and ask about departure tax and drink bottled water only.

gift and tip generously( small travel size bottles of shampoos will work - Buck or two ).

Even I have heard that you can not fly to cuba from US...you need to go to Canada or Bahamas. I am not sure though. Cuban writers have their own place in world literature. Dont know much about it but have heard that Cuba is home to some of the most prominent hispanic authors.

In North America socialism and esp communism is considered satanic and evil. May be you can have a glimpse of other side story there.
