Unhappy Intrude into PM's cavalcade (Just Now)

Car tries to intrude into PM's cavalcade

NEW DELHI: In a major incident, security of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was breached here late Tuesday night while he was travelling from the airport to his official residence.

A white Esteem car with registration number HR 26 Q 0427 intruded around midnight the sanitised road at a red light on the Rao Tularam Marg in South Delhi and attempted to overtake it although all traffic had been stopped for the VVIP movement.

Although SPG men escorting the Prime Minister fired at the erring vehicle, which reportedly had three occupants, it managed to disappear.

An alert has been sounded across Delhi and a massive hunt launched to track down the car.

The Prime Minister was returning after a day-long visit to Mumbai when the incident occurred.

Intelligence agencies have been warning of threats to the Prime Minister from various terrorist groups.

This is the second breach in the PM's security in 10 days.

We have enemies of the state amongst us

Yes.. thats the truth.

We have enemies within our borders who breathe the very same air that we do.

There surely exists a network or local people who support foreign agents of the ISI and the underworld who takes contracts to committ anti-national activities.

Our intelligence bureaus surely are sleeping around.

It took one 9/11 for US to realise what we knew - Afghanistan harbours terrorists... remember that IA plane hijacking drama at Kandhahar airport??

We have had our own 9/11 in the form of 13 October... what did we do?? Well we just said "Hum Bardasth Nahin Krenge.."

It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence.
- Mohandas Gandhi

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
- Mohandas Gandhi

Looking at our present situation – does is reflect ignorance, impotence or both on our government’s part?

First India ignored terrorism as a small-scale agitation – today it’s the biggest problem and our leaders look like spineless eunuchs. First we ignored AIDS as possible epidemic – today time is running out of our hands. No decision making, no risk taking, no vision – just one aim of sticking to their chairs like leaches!

Let 8-10 high profile old farts die – even if terrorists do it – let it happen. We are not to be blamed. Even terrorists are not to be blamed. They deserve death of a dog – does not matter who pulled the trigger on them! At least the next generation of politicians shell know their fate if they would not keep situation under control.

So guys sit back and relax – apanee country ka kacharaa saaf ho rela hai

Thumbs up Just Now

Two held for breaching PM's security
January 29, 2003 09:24 IST
The Delhi police has arrested two persons for breaching the security of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee when he was travelling from the airport to his Race Course Road residence on Tuesday night.

Ashok Kumar and Dharen Singh, who were drunk, had driven into the sanitised area on Rao Tula Ram Marg as the prime minister's cavalcade was passing by.

The Special Protection Group personnel accompanying the prime minister fired at the car, a white Maruti-Esteem bearing registration number HR 26Q 0427, damaging its windshields.

The duo, however, managed to escape, but was picked up from Gurgaon, which is on the outskirts of Delhi, on Wednesday morning. Cases of rash and negligent driving and interfering in the working of public servants were registered against them at the Delhi cantonment police station.

The car was also seized, police sources said.

The ownership of the car has been traced to one Umesh, the sources said.

They said Kumar and Singh were with a lady, Neena alias Gurmeet, when the incident occurred.

The duo is being interrogated, they added.

PM's security breach: 2 suspended

January 30, 2003 23:23 IST

Two security personnel were suspended within hours of a motorcyclist almost ramming into Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's motorcade on Thursday morning.

"ASI Pratap Singh of the Tilak Marg police station did not properly brief the CRPF personnel deployed along the stretch under his jurisdiction. He has been suspended," Delhi Police Commissioner R S Gupta told PTI.

Denying there was any 'security breach', Gupta said a local resident requested a CRPF head constable permission to leave as he had some urgent work, which the former refused due to VIP movement.

"There were three VIPs - the President, Vice-President and the prime minister. As soon as the first motorcade passed, the head constable obliged the resident," Gupta said.

"It was indiscretion on the part of the ASI not to have briefed the CRPF personnel that nobody should be allowed before all VIP movement is over," the police chief said.

Gupta said he held a high-level detailed meeting to 'suitably sensitise' the personnel in the regard.

"We try to keep a delicate balance between the requirements of public convenience and VIP security," the commissioner added.
